What do you know about ur planet? Many things seem to have existed forever, and certain well-known people are associated with a specific period of time. But have you ever really sat down and considered the relationship between different events in correlation with each other? You’d be surprised how your perception of time really fools you!
By the way, we’ve hidden 3 tiny light bulbs in this video. Can you find them all? If you’re the first one to find them and write the time they appear in the comments, you will get a mention from us in one of our next videos! Good luck, and let’s begin!
TIMESTAMPS
When the first Star Wars was released, the guillotine was still being used in France. 1:02
People born at the same moment can celebrate their birthdays on different days. 1:46
Martin Luther King Jr., Anne Frank, and Christopher Plummer were all born in the same year. 3:15
Cleopatra lived closer to the founding of McDonalds than to the building of the Great Pyramids. 4:14
Some of the whales that lived when Moby-Dick was written are still alive today. 4:58
A plane from New Zealand traveled in time. 5:40
The grandchildren of US President John Tyler, who was born in the 18th century, are still alive. 6:22
Warner Bros. Studios appeared when the Ottoman Empire still existed. 7:18
Throughout the life of Queen Elizabeth II, there have been 16 different US presidents. 8:22
Tiffany & Co. jewelry company is older than Italy. 8:44
If you could fit the entire history of Earth into 1 year, humans would appear at 11:35PM on December 31. 9:59
We are now closer to 2033 than 2000. 12:24
SUMMARY
- The first Star Wars movie was released on May 25, 1977. After that, France officially abolished the use of the guillotine along with the death penalty 1981!
- For example, it's still morning in the US but already the next day in Australia. Anyone who has flown westward over long distances especially gets what we’re saying. You’re travelling for hours and hours but, according to the local time, you arrive to your destination earlier than when you had left!
- The famous American preacher and 1960’s civil rights leader was born in the same year as Anne Frank, a brave little Jewish teenager.
- By the time Cleopatra was born in 69 B.C., the Great Pyramid of Giza had already been around for 2,471 years!
- Herman Melville wrote Moby-Dick in 1851. In his book, the author described a gigantic white whale infamous for its huge size and the destruction it caused to ships. And while such whales have a lifespan of about 50-60 years, the Bowhead whale can live for as long as 200 years and more!
- What happened was a Hawaiian plane took off from Auckland at 12:05AM on January 1, 2018. The passengers on the plane were happy to celebrate the New Year a second time because the plane landed in Honolulu at 10:16AM local time on December 31, 2017.
- John Tyler was born in 1790; that’s over 200 years ago! Yet 2 of his grandchildren, Lyon Gardiner Tyler Junior and Harisson Raffin Tyler, are still alive. Yes, grandchildren!
- In 1903 the Warner brothers opened their first movie theater called the Cascade. Their parents were originally from the Russian Empire, and out of 12 children in the family, it was actually just Harry, Albert, Sam, and Jack that started the famous company.
- Elizabeth II was born in 1926 when Calvin Coolidge was President of the US. Since then, there have been 15 successors.
- The Italy we know today, aka the Italian Republic, was established in 1861, and Charles Lewis Tiffany and John Young opened their first store on Broadway in 1837. But you probably wouldn’t have recognized the company in its early years.
- Let's imagine the Earth’s 4.54 billion-year history is squished into one calendar year. If you crunch the numbers, you’ll see that 1 second would equal 144 years!
- When you hear "10 years ago," you still think of the '90s, not the 2000s, don't you? Isn’t it crazy how so many people are guilty of this? Well, here’s a friendly reminder: it’s been 18 years since the year 2000 (and 28 since 1990!)

I once had my birthday twice in one year too on August 11 2010. I had my first international flight from Korea to NYC. The departure from seoul was around 5pm on the 10th of august which is around 4am on the 10th of august, NYC time. I had my birthday on the plane later midnight. At the same time, NYC was around 11am on the 10th of august. When I arrived at NYC after 16hours of flight, it was around 8pm on the 10th of August which gave me 4 hours of counting down to my second birthday for the year. Lol. I spent 9 hours of my birthday on a plane enroute to NYC and another 24 hours on my second day in NYC. Haha Tldr: I was able to have my birthday twice on my first international flight. Lol

Like that one video (on my other channel) that I uploaded on December 21, 2012, shortly before going to school for the final time that year (that being the final time had nothing to do with the supposed end of the world), but KZfaq says it was uploaded on the 20th. Queen Elizabeth is older than sliced bread. The bread-slicing machine was invented in 1927, and sliced bread was first sold in 1928; Elizabeth II was born in 1926. As for Elizabeth II living through 16 U.S Presidents, it's more surprising that her reign has taken place during the administrations of 12 U.S. Presidents.

Every moment that we experience makes time move faster from our perspective. An hour to a month-year old is way more than an hour to a 90 year old. At 5:50. The plane that took off from Auckland at 12:05am. Here is another twist. Lets magine a women on the plane that just took off from Auckland gave birth on the plane at 12:20am. which was Jan 1st 2018. A doctor on board recorded the birth and the pilot even reported it to Auckland airport saying all is fine we are continuing. Unfortunately upon arriving in Honolulu the baby died in a car accident at 1pm on the 31 December 2017. So on his death certificate and head stone it would read Born Jan 1st 2018. Died December 31st 2017. Now that would be confusing for anyone who read it.

America was discovered by Columbus in 1492. The pub has been there since the 1480's, and the main framework of said pub hasn't had to be replaced since it was initially built. Assuming 1492 is the 'start' of the USA , it's barely past 500 years old. Also, I'm from Britain. We've been around as an independent nation since the Romans left around 400AD. So, 1618 years ago.

ShiftyMcGoggles When the Romans left England was by no means a single country. They were unified much later. Besides the modern England was really born after the Norman invasion of 1066.

True, but it does still put into perspective how short a time it's been since Centurions were parading around the UK in the name of Rome. A flash in the pan in the grand scheme of things.

ShiftyMcGoggles oh ok thank you for clarifying cause I'm in the US and had to assume you meant another country besides US (where the pub was located in mean ) but that's a cool tidbit of info. I love learning new info like that , it's always interesting, atleast to me, to find things out like that. it always fascinates me honestly. thanks again

Ramses 2nd ate foie gras, drank fine wines and had shoe collections. He”d walk down named streets with mailboxes and numbered houses, past the barber shop, clothing shop, and food store on the way to the shoe store to return the sandals cause he didn’t like the colors. He”d salute any Egyptian flag he saw, which colors were red white and blue. Anyone who thinks history has changed much knows extremely little of history. There is nothing new under the sun

Some more facts: 1. It's possible for identical twins to be born on different days, if one was born before, and the other after midnight. 2. The Carboniferous period lasted longer than the time that has passed since dinosaurs' extinction to the present. 3. Scientists have found a star in the Milky Way that seems to be older than the Milky Way itself, judging by its low metal content.

1. And in quite a few countries, the 2nd-born twin is judged to be the older one (where it matters for inheritance, etc.) So the older one might be a day younger :-).

So about time zones, what happens if I fly west continuously, at the same speed as the day or faster? Does that mean if you kept going west around, you'd be going back in time? 🤯
