Welcome back, In this video we take a look at the things that were in here comes the pain not in wwe 2k23. It includes lumberjack match,ridiing a bike, go outside the arena and many more. Let me know any more of these stuff and i'll include it in the next part.

The biggest thing missing in WWE 2K23 for me is the excitement and atmosphere in the arenas. The game just feels lifeless and the commentary doesn't freak out when you do something big. HCTP really feels like your in a packed house with 20,000 fans and it makes the game feel so much more alive. Yuke's seems to be drawing from the HCTP era for AEW Fight Forever, which may not have cutting edge visuals, but it looks super fun to play.

HCTP was also the only main series game to feature both that bike entrance as well as Batista's "Monster" theme in the same game, allowing you to combine the two for an epic entrance. My brother had the most badass looking CAW imaginable. Basically, a classic main event era Batista but with biker gear and sunglasses, entering on the bike to Batista's tron; and using a combination of The Rock, Goldberg and Lesnar's moves. Roof came off the place whenever others saw him make that entrance

6:36 riding Undertaker’s bike is like a GTA 5 feature. What I wish 2k23 could add back into the game would be “Chair shot spots” add “Lumberjack matches” and also bring back “Three stages of Hell matches” which I’m sure most fans where complaining about it etc.

HCTP was a revolutionary game, I've played a lot of WWE games before this but when this was released i was hooked from the beginning. Doing many seasons with different CAWS haha. Even went back to it when later games got released. I hope one day they can re-do something like this. Thanks for the trip down memory lane mate, it's appreciated 👍...also (12- HCTP had this match, it was fun haha)

2k is lifeless. Ultra simulation doesn't work for wrestling games. This is why games before went the route of sim and arcade mix.

HCTP's roster was also legendary, it has almost every superstar you can think of. It had Goldberg, Cena, Taker, Randy, Kane, Edge, TripleH, Batista, RVD, Steve, Rock, Rey , Bigshow etc

Although hctp was purely an arcade game the animations for the finishers were pretty real esp that 5 star frog splash by rvd.

I had so much fun with rvd and sabu with the chairs in hctp but I'm glad there's no lumberjack match in 2k23 if that's how it would be. They're not supposed to keep grabbing at you lol that would piss me off if I'd have to play a match.

The stat system is way better in "Smackdown Here comes the pain" do to the simple fact if you were a over powered guy the other player would know it from the jump" lets take for instance Brock Lesnar and Goldberg in the game.... playing against them felt harder depending on who you had so if you had a weak wrestler they would beat you easily. In the new games the attributes doesn't really affect much especially damage wise.

Sadly, 2K will never be THQ. THQ was a developer that had a team that was obsessed with wrestling and you could see it in every detail and every game they did. 2K is your typical paint by the numbers developer that is just trying not to lose money. Why WWE does not give other developers a shot at making their games like they did during the ps2/Xbox/Gamecube era is a disservice to their fans.

Whoever is at fault just doesn’t care about wrestling enough. You can see it clearly in shit like move sets.. they can’t even get current WWE superstars movesets right. The animations aren’t top notch. I look towards Rock’s moveset in HCTP. . And it’s like wow. They ACTUALLY watched matches.

It wasn't mo capped back then. Yukes animated all the moves by hand. That's why the moves look so crap in the 2K games, because the person in the motion capture suit doesn't want to take any bumps. They always land softly on crash mats.

HCTP is more arcade where 2k is more simulation/realistic the hanging from the helicopter fighting outside running in the treadmill is the arcade side of things

I still think it's stupid to try and turn a wrestling game into a simulation. Nothing about professional wrestling is realistic. It should be over-the-top and larger than life. Yukes and THQ understood that. 2K doesn't.

HCTP was almost the perfect wrestling game. The only thing it dropped the ball on was the sound design. The incredibly stock BGM. The lack of commentary. And impact noises. The sound of several fully laden dishwashers being chucked down a flight of stairs is not pleasant after a while

Growing up I wasn’t a fan of the overselling in the previous game as I found them very unrealistic and just over the top, for example every chokeslam cause the opponent to flip and not one animation landed flat on their back So I prefer the new sellings, however the recovering for that 5 Star Frog splash is horrendous, we all knew RVD’s selling looked so impactful real life

The Bra and Panties match broke my PS2. I set the women's finisher to the people's elbow so whenever they do the animation of removing the *elbow pads* the y instead remove their clothes. 💀

Yeah those were the good old days but here's what they need to realize those games were done by THQ and Yikes WWE 2K 23 was done by 2k plus they want the wrestling game to see more see real about now back in them days we was on PlayStation 2 but now we're at next-gen they suspect sports game to fill more realistic same with these horror games the adding more realism so they can scare the hell out of us and it kind of makes more sense we got to technology make everything look good and real might as well make it fill real

I understand them removing some moves in favor of others, but a lot of the finishers in 2K23 are trash compared to a game released 3 console generations ago! Especially RVD's 5*, Booker's Scissors kick, Kane's chokeslam, Goldberg's spear and jackhammer, Triple H's pedigree and Brock's F5.

I think the problem is people compare arcade style wrestling games to simulation style wrestling games. Of course you’re gonna have a lot more options with the arcade style but 2k isn’t doing arcade style. I personally like the more realistic aspect of the newer games. They could still add more detail into things though

No, it isn't. There is room in pro wrestling for women who can legitimately wrestle, and divas who only want to be eye candy and catfight. Since WWE decided to include Stacy Keibler in their Hall of Fame and their video games, then they also have to bring back these match types, because those are what she primarily competed in.
