Helping your friends get their drinks while they are shooting is such a great tip. Maybe I am being superstitious, but even if a non dice setter gets distracted by the cocktail waitress, the roll seems to end quickly.

Yes I agree. Almost always 7 out after getting distracted by cocktail waitress. If I order a drink and my roll comes before the drink arrives I'll hand my $ to a buddy and ask them to take care of it when she arrives. And I'll always take care it if ones is my buddy's is shooting.

Meh #8 is silly... I have played in vegas casinos where 80% of the table is smoking... so imho #8 is more of a "know your audience" type thing. Hmmm #12 is right and wrong... 95% of the dealers I have played with prefer a passline bet that has a decent shot at winning rather than a hard 10 or yo or some nonsense trash bet in the middle of the table. If the dealer is good and I'm tipping during the gameplay I normally just toss down a few chips, say "Dealer's Choice" and let them pick whatever they want.

Hands down is east coast West coast not so much. But on west coast odds are stacked to high and the dealer won't be concerned and clean it up like on east coast.

Two points. I smoke. When I'm at the craps table and I'm smoking I take a step back and blow the smoke up and away from the table. That's just common courtesy. When I'm not at the table I don't go around blowing smoke in peoples faces. More often than not it's the anti smoking zealots who are out of control. I once had a woman complain to me about the smoke coming from my cigarette. I showed her my cigarette and said- "Don't you think you should wait until I light it before you complain about the smoke?!" If smoke bothers you that much, go to a non-smoking casino. You can believe it all you want but dice setting doesn't work. It's not physically possible, and it defies the laws of physics. Every casino in the world bars card counters. Though not illegal, it can give players the advantage. Virtually no casino bars dice setting. The very few that do, do so because dice setters typically take an inordinate amount of time to throw the dice. The casino wants more hands played, and more rolls of the dice, because, as we all know, in the long run, the house always wins. If dice control actually worked, every casino in the world would ban it!

Jim, 2 Points. 1. Unless you're on fire, don't smoke at the Craps table. You're standing shoulder to shoulder with other people around the table. It's gross. 2. Just because you suck at throwing the dice that doesn't mean that others can't improve thier chances of throwing 7s less often with dice control.

@@5DollarYo Two points- 1) You prove my point about anti-smoking zealots. If you are so offended by smokers, and it bothers you so much, then go to a non-smoking casino! We won't miss you. 2) Over the years I have had many good rolls. I have also had many not so good rolls. It's almost like it's random. Oh wait, that's right. It is random! If "dice control" was an actual thing then there would be legions of "dice controllers" making their living by playing Craps, and, in fact, the practice would have already been banned by every casino in the world. It hasn't been banned because casinos know it defies the laws of physics. Believe all you want that you can "control" the dice. All you are doing is denying science.

@@jimmalachowsky4052 The casino employees are being exposed to harmful chemicals in the smoke. Eventually, one of them is going to sue their employer. Of course, it will end up in the Supreme Court and they should rule that every employee has the right to work in a safe environment.

Question for all...say you’re down a couple hundred, you color up...are you tipping the dealers especially if you had been making bets for them on your way to the loss?

That's a tough question. Making bets for them along the way leave towards no. But really depends upon how nice they were during play. Good dealers that enjoy Thur jobs and their customers get tipped. Unfortunately, very few view players as customers and more like a nuisance.

I like to put a few bets out for the dealers along the way but when I finish up I give them the most money. If I’m up good I give them a good tip. If I’m down they will probably just get a few dollars. I play often enough that were I play at they know me by name and I know them.

I hate those "middle of the roll" buy-ins especially when the shooter is hot. Nothing irritates everyone at the table more than someone buying in with a couple of hundreds 3 20's, 2 10's, 2 5's and 5 1 dollar bills.

I, personally, don't agree with the no smoking rule. I've never had someone tell me not to. That being said, i WON'T smoke if the shooter is within a couple of spots from me, out of respectfor the person and i don't want that person distracted with my cigarette smoke.

🤣. "Free" drinks indeed. Well in many Vegas casinos they're like $20 for a well drink if you're not gambling, so I hope in had at least 5 of them.

I don't smoke, but I still think the "No Smoking" rule doesn't apply unless you're at a no-smoking craps table. (Cigars are another thing.) Every other rule is solid, but I'd put "HANDS UP" first on the list. I've played craps for many, many hours and tens of thousands of dollars, and I have never experienced a a fortunate outcome from dice hit midair by a clueless moron.

That's for your reply. Yes the hands up has cost me many times. The most memorable was on a casino boat off the Florida coast. I'd just hit the small, tall, and overall bonus. The very next roll. A player at the opposite end of the table was placing a field bet just as the dice were leaving my fingers and disrupted any follow through. I hollered hands up. But the damage had been done. 7 out. The good news is I hit all the bonuses one roll before. Bad news, I was heavied up on all the numbers . Was still a very profitable day, but it could have been an enormously profitable day! As for for the smoking part. That's why this video Is on etiquette and not actual rules. It's about doing the right thing. Not what's legal. Cheers!

It's funny in the same dice. I always request same dice if I've been throwing for a while. But it's not so much for me as I believe I make my own luck & set the dice anyway. But u can sometimes feel the tension of others at the table if ur in a good roll & toss one off the table. It's a one roll tension however!

@@antonynopoulos823 I always tip the dealers when I do well. At a minimum, it's insurance against stuff like forgetting to put odds on a come bet or line bet. Oh and "same dice" is stupid, just superstition. When I send one off the table I just ask the dealer to grab one from the bowl. Same dice is as stupid as the people who think the odds of rolling a particular number change based on what happened in the past.

"It's you Vs The casino" correct. NOT you Vs The Dealers. The Dealers may be wearing the casino's uniform and have to enforce the casino's rules, but make no mistake, they are working for TIPS so they are on the players side 100% if the player is tipping. You don't tip, you are on your own bubba.

There are non smoking casinos and non smoking rooms. If I smoke its because I've been at the table for an hour and I'm not leaving. I do stand back a bit and blow smoke away though. I understand both sides of the argument though.
