One that I do without fail is, before I ever place a bet, is sit back and watch each shooter. I size them up before I bet on them. This has proven to be so valuable when I play.

These are very goods points. When I step up to a table. I watch for at least a few shooters before I ever buy in. And even then I watch for a few more rolls before I ever make a bet. I watch each shooter and do exactly as you said. I size them up before I bet on them. Also I ask the players around me and I look at their chips. You can usually tell a seasoned player by the chips they have. But I will say you can’t always tell a good player by how much they buy in for. There are people who think they are a hi roller and they don’t have a clue.

I threw for over an hour a few weeks ago in Vegas. Made others at the table thousands. Set the dice one way to establish a point, another way to get the point. Yes there is more luck than skill involved but if you throw exactly the same way every time and it's working, simply put.... it improves your luck. Later in the day I won 1500.00 by playing off a couple other shooters who threw the same consistent way every throw. Great adivice on almost every rule. Great video, Thanks!

Exactly right. If you've played for a while you recognize a "hot streak" and bail when it's done. Problem is, that's when it feels the best........ when you're up, playing with their money (uh, wrong) and you stay. Not me. I bail and go get a drink and do something else.

@5DollarYo 2 жыл бұрын
Right on Buddy. Feeling comfortable is most important. But you don't need booze to do it. Neither do I. I prefer to drink when playing but I play often without drinking as well. Lots of things can impact how comfortable you feel at the craps table. Rule #1 is if you aren't comfortable you will lose. It's interesting that sometimes you can walk up to a table and feel uncomfortable. Then come back 30 minutes to the same table and have a whole different feel. Game on. Make your own lucky Budy!

Rule #21........take profits when you got 'em. I can't tell you how many times I've been at the craps table and see players constantly pressing up their bets 1 2 3 four hundred dollars, and they never take down those profits and they lose all of it when a 7 comes out. Saw a guy two weeks ago with $350 on every off point number and yep......here came the 7. It was a $25 minimum table, and on that 7 he lost over 2 grand. It boggled my mind because the dude just kept pressing. Craps may be a gambling game, but you don't wanna gamble stupid! Here's a tidbit.......the dealers will take off your chips back down to minimum if you ask. Another tidbit......don't start pressing up until you have enough in your chip tray to cover the loss of the press, as well as the loss of the original bet. For example, if the minimum is $25, and you have $25 on every point and $25 on the line, don't start pressing up your bets unless and until you have $300 in your chip tray. Now, of course, it helps if you have a long rolling shooter but that goes without saying.

$5 yo!! I love that name brother. Reminds me of a crazy Super Bowl weekend in Vegas couple years back. Being from Hawaii, I usually play downtown, as that's where all the "locals" play.(We call Fremont st. the ninth island of Hawaii) Golden nugget, sat night..group of us Hawaiians playing craps, most of us (not me unfortunately) betting $5 yo on the come out, parlaying when it hits. Drunk guy with the loudest aloha shirt steps up to shoot, calls for the yo & hits it! Now we have 5 people parlaying...& he hits it again!! Now all five are at table max of $200 on the yo...he hits it 3 more freaking times in a row!! Cleaned out rows & rows of chips...so much so that after paying out you could see the circular patterns of dust where the chips were probably sitting for years!! So many combos of yo bets, e/t, horn highs, those five rolls took about 40 min after the dealers figured out the payouts. Crazy!!

@Jana-TheCraftyGambler
@Jana-TheCraftyGambler 5 жыл бұрын
Howell Wong, don’t be afraid of an empty table. I love it! The only thing is, once I find an empty table, it doesn’t stay empty long, those who are just waiting for someone to start playing jump on. Once that happens I sit back and watch how they play before I place any bets. Chances are they are new to the game, which is why they waited for someone else to open the play up. One reason I like an empty table, is because I don’t second guess myself and my bets. I start talking to the dealers and just throw the dice and don’t think about it. I typically do pretty well. If someone does jump into the game, like I said watch them first, size up the players and see if they know what they are doing. However, there is something to be said about a virgin players being lucky. I’m a pretty superstitious player tho.

Thanks for the kind comments. I've seen the pass/dont pass strategy in a video and its and interesting concept. I dont believe that every casino lets you do that however. You can bet a place bet on the same number as ur Dont come bet or the point however If u feel like the shooter might throw that number. Or dont be afraid to jump back off the donts and ride a shooter u initially thought wasn't going to throw well. I used to lose sometimes because I was too stubborn to admit I misjudged a shooter. Check out our video on surviving a cold craps table if haven't watched it yet. Thanks man!

I agree with a lot of this. I hate playing at a downer table. I'm there to try and make money, I don't discriminate. I'll play the don't along with the pass. If I feel a shooter is going to 7 out, I'll let him throw 3,4 times than play a DC. If I don't like the number (say 6,8,) I'll take it down and try for another number, or just ride it out. If I'm unsure about a shooter, I'll do a slow climb with the shooter and see how it goes without risking a lot of money. If I feel a shooter will be hot, I'll do a progressive betting system and hope to cash in.

Place the 5,6,8,9 after a cluster of 7’s roll. Tell the dealer to ‘work’ your bets on the come out roll. You have 18 ways to win and 6 ways to lose. There are 36 combinations. 18 of those combinations are the 5,6,8,9 and the 7 rolls 6 ways. Take 3 wins and pull down your place bets. Then time the 7’s for your next set up. On normal distribution a 7 will roll every 6 rolls. Possible combinations equals 36 and the number 7 is 6 of those combinations, so the math is 6/36 or 1 in 6. However, as you know it is random, in other words you will cycle through a cluster of 7’s because it is the highest probability roll. If you are seeing back to back 7’s and 7’s evert 2-3 rolls, the frequency has compressed to a 7 every 3 rolls. It will regress to the mean of our baseline 6 by expanding the distance from the 7 to perhaps every 12 rolls or even higher (this is what we call a hot shooter). If you don’t believe me take a pair of casino dice (weighted and balanced) dice and add the cumulative totals of each roll for about 30 rolls, that number will be near 210 or 7 X 30. The sum of the rolls divided by 7 will inversely give you the number of rolls also. Also, of the 36 combinations, half or (18) combinations are even numbers and (18 ) combinations are odd numbers. The same is true with the 5,6,8,9. These numbers comprise (18) combinations and the other numbers 2,3,4, 7,10,11,12 comprise (18) combinations. Also, half the time the dice are greater than 7 and half the time the roll is less than 7. So, you have three 50/50 propositions and tracking two trending in one direction will give you an indicator for the 3rd set of data’s regression to the mean. Employing these statistical anomalies will give you the best opportunity to time the proximity of a 7 rolling. The probability of not rolling a 7 on any given roll is 30/36 or 83,3%. The probability of not rolling a 7 in two back to back rolls is (.83X.83) or 69%. The probability of 3 rolls without a 7 is (.83X .83 X .83) or 57%, so be careful. Just think for a minute almost 50% of the shooters who take the dice will roll a 7 within the first 3 rolls. This is why you must have monitor the frequency of the 7 and do not bet until the compression of 7’s begins to unwind. And remember there are NO combinations of bets where the House does not have an advantage, NONE. You will only win when you are lucky enough to choose the right side of an aberration and you can’t choose it if you don’t recognize it. In the words of that Romanian terrorist in the movie Taken, “Gud luck”.😎

P.R. Pursell , WOW, that will happen only 1/6(11) or on normal distribution every 362,797,056 rolls. So, if there is a dice roll every 90 seconds, you would have to roll you would have to roll the dice 8 hours a day for 1,133,740.8.

Rule #21 add two [2] zero's [0] to the table limit and that should get you a 'good' session of craps (weather you win or lose). I learned this on the old $0.25 Craps tables at El Cortez, miss those dayz. Craps is only game that the Players control. That's what makes it a great game. Best Advise in this Video, it is a SOCIAL GAME. Not like Blackjack when you get yelled at for taking too many cards!

Best way to play craps is to be VERY observant when you first get to the table. See who's rolling how and check out everyone's chip counts. Start playing on the cheap to get the feel of the table. Ask the dealers how the table is...most will tell you honestly how "hot" or "cold" the table is. I used to frequent Vegas, weekly during the week on my days off, walk around the strip and checking out the tables at most all of the Caesar's casinos. I used to hit "fire bets" for @$1700 weekly with just a $5 bet on hot shooter or when I get the streak. Few times, I hit all 6 numbers for 1000:1 odds fire bet! Got my car and bike paid off, new flat screen T.V, etc.

It happens right?! Sometimes when you look down and start counting how much money you have on the table that's when that 7 comes. Hopefully as you're building up your racking chips and filling up your tray before that seven actually comes and wipes out the table. It's tempting and sometimes I'll will pull down my bets. That's hard to do when the table's hot. But sometimes if you pull down everything you've got out there that adds an awful lot to your rack. But again it's very difficult to do on a hot table.

I'd like to add a rule: Trends rule craps, so play on what's been hitting!! I see too often that players want to balance their bets. Ex: they start with $22 inside... 6 hits, they press it to $12. 6 hits AGAIN, now they press the 8! Then another SIX & they press the 9! WHY?? Play what's been hitting!! I once rolled for over an hr, & by the time the bad # showed I had more than $800 on the felt, though about 3x that in my rack. Yet I had a mere $10 on the 10. I started with $27 across & pressed 1 unit after every hit, but not until I had recouped my initial investment. At least from my experience, trends rule the craps table. If hardways are hitting, throw $1 on each & press slowly. If the field gets hot, put a red chip in there & use the winnings to press your place bets.
@hiromi8o852

Yes, some bets have a higher house edge than others, & will cost you more in the long run, but playing a few hrs on your vacation is a series of short runs, & anything can & will happen. Bet on the hot shooters & #s & you will maximize both your fun & potential for a huge win.
@hiromi8o852

It's also true that all the bets in the middle, & especially the 1 roll bets have the worst house edge, but don't be afraid to throw a few dollars on those once in a while. Some of my biggest wins have been attributed to the sucker bets when they hit. $2 c/e on the come out provides a lot of action & excitement cheering for the yo, & also provides insurance on your pass line bet, & a base to make a killing should the shooter start going @around the horn" If a crap hits, use the $6 to replace your pass line bet & press the c/e $1. If a yo hits press your $2 c/e to a $5 horn high yo & rack the $16. Horn # hits make it $8 horn. I've found lit of the time there's one magical roll of horn #s on the come out, & ive turned that $2 into over $300 profit multiple times.

Another strategy: Find the lucky players & copy what they bet. Seems really simple, since it is! I've had a lot of success with this one. Pay attention to who's winning & also to what & how theyre betting. Now throw a few dollars on whatever they have bet, but do it fast before the dice go out!!

Field betting strategy: ~Make sure it pays double on the 2 & triple on the 12, or vice versa. This makes betting the field not that bad of a bet. 16 ways to win 20 ways to lose, but after accounting for the 2/12 it brings it down to 19/20 ~Never ever chase the field. The field is most certainly not alive after five. Trends rule the craps table. I'll never replace my losing field bet the roll after. For me, I'll start with $16/$17 inside if the point is an inside # + a field bet. I like to start out with the field bet, since it can win multiple times before losing. I don't replace it once it loses until it hits 2x in a row. Point is 10/4 I'll place 6/8/5 + a field bet for some iron cross action. When the fields hitting I may press or use the profits to press my other place bets, mainly the 6/8/5 so I'll make a little more profit after accounting for the field loss.

Some of these rules make sense but some others are nonsense.. such as don't come on anyone wearing a coat. Sounds like you had a bad night but how do you make this a rule? Thanks for the video overall.... do you think dice control is possible with the spikes on the wall?
@5DollarYo
@5DollarYo 6 жыл бұрын
+Lisa Brown thanks for the comments Lisa. The don't bet on shooters wearing a coat rule is funny but true. I'm talking about winter coats and yes some people actually play in them rather than check their coat or valet. Winter coats can be restrictive and mess with roll. These people crap out fast often. As for dice control it's best to not hit the spikes. Land the dice softly on the table and roll to the bottom of the wall below the spikes

My goal is to recruit a team to always have controlled shooters in the 6 best spots on the table (though lefties and long range shooters are very specific talents.) I made $100 average per session over a year, winning almost all of them; but it was sooooo boring waiting for my turn with the dice and I rarely saw any other controlled shooters there. 1 night I got on a table where everyone was doing dice control, I turned $176 into $1600, left with $1150.

This contains a lot of superstitious rules along with rules that simply don’t follow logic (treating shooting at craps as something as skill based as shooting at basketball or something the way they talk about rating every shooter). There may be on occasional rate player who can improve the odds to some degree with long practiced dice control but mostly that sort of advice just doesn’t fit reality, that trashy looking guy you said not to bet on will have the same chance of throwing sevens as the well dressed older gentleman with the tray full of green chips.

Right on dude. Gambling should be entertainment $$ so yeah I never said anything about making a living from it. 6s and 8s are great. Especially on certain shooters. Outside of the 7, 6s and 8s are most likely to come up. On certain shooters I only bet 6s & 8s and will heavy up on them. If u find a shooter next to the stickman that's soft tossing the dice where the table meets the wall, it's a great time to play 6s & 8s in my opinion.

Rule #21 Don't ever let the Casino tell you the dice are balanced! There's a 70% chance they are not.
@PsyQoBoy
@PsyQoBoy 5 жыл бұрын
I deal craps at a casino and that question has not been asked before. Craps doesn't make money for the casino, there's like one craps table on the main gaming floor. Don't think they'll rig the dice that way. Also where did you get 70% figure from? Also nothing is made the same if you look under a microscope there's 100% chance the dice aren't the same, coz they gonna be atoms difference of each other.

I call BULLSHIT!!! Understand this: 1. Craps is a game of attrition...most shooters WILL 7 out within a few rolls (the math says 6 rolls on average because 7 can come up 6 ways), so you must try and stay on the table until a hot roll comes, that means start betting in units that will keep you at the table for at least 6 to 9 shooters, hoping that a hot roll will happen sometime within those shooters. 2. Craps is a game of Money Management!!! Know WHAT bets are the best bets, and that's not difficult to know, it's 6 & 8, and betting max odds allowed behind the Pass Line. Bet on the 5 & 9 next at lower units (unless you are already at single units), and then cover the 4 &10 IF to have already managed to collect on a few of the inside bets, again this goes back to #1. above, Attrition...stay at the table as long as you can, if you go in full force on the first few shooters, you're doomed!!!! 3. Create a betting strategy! There are a ton of betting strategies out there, just do some research and find one that suits what you can afford AND most importantly keeps you at the table!!! 4.KNOW YOUR LIMITS!!! This is in CAPS for a reason, dont game if you cannot afford to lose! All casino games are set up to put you at a disadvantage, it doesnt mean you cant get luck or hit a hot streak, but just remember its entertainment first....professional gamblers can bankroll their lifestyle and work, can you!?!?!? I love craps because it's a social game, it's the best odds game in the casino for the exception, a fraction of a percentage, of Roulette, but who In the fuck wants to play Roulette! There is nothing more exciting, fun, or profitable then a hot craps table! I have studied the game for over 50+ years (started shooting craps as a 10yo in grade school), in the Army I was always The Bank and made a 2nd living on pay days taking $$$$ from guys who didnt know the odds. I hit my local tribal casino 3 days a week...and never have to tell the dealers to place my bet, they already know how I bet and play. I casino also comps me and my guests whatever I want to eat, Steak House, Seafood Buffett, etc., I am also compted concert tickets and hotel rooms whenever I want. I get all this and I only buy in for around $200 each visit. On average my annual winnings are between $3,000 and $5,000. My best year was over $12,000, and my worst year was -$4,000. My best one day win was $22,000+ (that included a $5,000 & $1,250 Fire Bet pay out). If you are interested in knowing what betting strategy I use, hit me up. Take care all!!!
