Perfectly timed, currently in the process of building an 8th edition Skaven army to get back into fantasy with after a few years break.

Skaven were my original Warhammer army back in the early to mid nineties. I remember going to the GWv store in town and buying a blister of three metal rats for a fiver. Good times..

This is hands down the greatest Army Book ever and while I wanted an 8th Ed hardback I was very happy with it as it stands and would hate to lose all my items.

Good army book review. I agree with most things you said. Few things to note though: -Assassins are actually a very good choice and they were part of the tournament meta when fantasy was still being played. You would put one or two of them in a Stormvermin Screaming Bell unit and they would take care of enemy characters and provide combat resolution to create a terrifying death star. Setup was first assassin with Weeping Blade and Potion of Strenght and the second with Blade of Corruption and other tricksters shard. Skaven Assassins are so good because they have the 4++ build in which for example the Dark Elf Khainite Assassin do not have, -Scorch cannot be cast into close combat as Rulebook Page 31 states that wizards cannot target spells at units that are engaged in close combat. -I strongly disagree with the opinion that howling warpgale is a mediocre spell. It is one of the best from the lore of ruin. Its main effect is not only the negative shooting modifier but the fact that it forbids flying. That is strong against a huge variety of factions including Vampire Counts (Fellbats, Vargheists, Terrorgheist), Warriors of Chaos (Demon Prince, Chimera), and even Teradon Riders of Pegasus Knights. -If Skweel Gnawtooth dies the units retains the buffs he provided so its not really a big deal if he dies in combat.

Should have waited one more year for 13! Now we just have to wait 13 more years for GW to update the models. Cant believe they still havent updated the skaven model range, it’s their number one, hands down, no contest, most unique and awesome army they have. Hope they get their shit together soon and realize that.

A cool thing you'll never take is a storm vermin horde with the war banner and a bsb with the grand banner of superiority. static +5 to combat rez with an additional D3.

i think slaves are one of my favorite units in this army. being able to buy a hugh block for cheap and put them into a combat only to shoot at the opponent with missils weapon is such a uniq and fun mechanic. atleast for the skaven player.

I wish more youtubers would put out hours-long, unedited (or minimally edited) content in general. I never understood why some people rush through their videos.

This Skaven book was one of the best fantasy army books GW's ever written, probably one of the best faction books of all time in the fantasy-40k paradigm. I'd even put it up there with the CSM 3.5e and SM 4e codex books with how good it was

Ah Skaven. Wonderful army full of some zany and traitorous shit that if you don't take full advantage of, you're doing something wrong. Also, this was a really fun review. I feel like the addition of someone to bounce off of really helped carry on a quick pace and it helped make this video feel as long as the other reviews even though it's far longer than them.
