Hi my Friends, this is my cheap version 12V winch loader log trailer which I made from old boat trailer and manual uplifter. I also added 12V ATV winch which makes the heavy job instead of me.

That's great, minimum outlay minimum effort, max productivity, first class.

Nice build. Personally, since your tractor had hydraulics i would have spent the extra and used a hydraulic winch, 100% duty cycle, used a hydraulic cylinder for the crane function because i could use a wireless controller with a valve body so all functions are power and wireless

Nicely done! This is exactly how I load logs on my trailer, but I use the harbor freight winch / hydraulic crane, and I also need to put an electric winch on it like you did. I really like that crane though, that is really heavy duty. Thanks for the great video

Excellent job! I've been thinking something similar before I break my back.

Wow this is cool. I gotta do this. Ive been thinking about getting an engine hoist like this. I have one that goes up to 4500lb but I need it for engines. I’ll probably get the heaviest one I can find and use that since the logs I get in the N Ga mountains are sometimes 40” across or more. Of course I could even use a smaller set up like yours for shorter logs. I’ll probably attach four jacking stabilizer legs to my trailer kinda like the lineman’s trucks use but on a much smaller scale. Thanks for sharing your idea. Would love to see a video on how you made the pivot base.

That is the coolest idea. Was hesitant to buy this crane because the wire went through the lifting arm, so it was only useful for lifting, and not pulling, But your modification with the pulley at the nose of the crane is great. What pulley wheel did you use? Did you just scavenge them from another machine? Can't seem to find anything suitable. Thank you for a great video.

Was going to say you better have that tractor running while using or you could be stuck walking home. Nice idea the lower bearing is the type you would see on a wheel bearing a tapered roller bearing only one that would work for this. To bad this wouldn’t work for me my trees are much to large 30in is the smallest

Interested in the pivot of the log lifter. I have everything but am stuck on designing the pivot point to handle the load! Would be greatly interested in specifics concerning your design!

Hope you got it figured out. I'm currently working on a similar setup myself. I'm using a fairly large hub and spindle assembly for mine.

Brake rotor and spindle off a big car from the 70s or 80s works very well and you can rebuild later on down the road with parts from the parts store.

I used a conical bearing for the top side and a ball bearing for the bottom and it worked out fine, but i guess u can also use a wheel hub from a car

Hey great video! What made/model is the crane?
@johnkemnitz74782 жыл бұрын
I really like your video. I had this build in mind when searching youtube for builds. I am building one with a six-inch tube inside of a 6 and a half-inch tube. It's holding parts from a 4,000 lb shop crane. I am almost done. I have a gap in my pipe which makes it a bit sloppy after polishing the tubes so I am sticking smooth copper metal inside to make a bushing and adding a grease fitting. Did you need to add the small pulley at the end of the boom? Is that to help keep the cable straight or what was your think on that? I'm just wondering if I should add that to mine.

Oh, by the way, I went the 2,500 lb harbor freight winch only because it was a great buy for $71 on sale and it was the only winch in the smaller size with the wireless remote. I would have liked to have put the 3,500 on it. I will be lifting hardwoods but I will cut to smaller sections first. I'm thinking the crane will also assist in holding the big oak rounds from the trailer directly to the top of the splitter.

Ahoj super věc, to rameno jsi vyráběl, nebo je to nějaká sériová výroba ? Ať se daří

Nice, just wondering how close are those logs are to the 1500 lb limit?
@make_it4 жыл бұрын
These are quite small, but I worked with some logs 800-900 lb week ago.

Amazing!! I never seen before! We can buy in the store or it is a homemade? Good job!
@make_it4 жыл бұрын
You can buy all the components separately. Just the uplifter, 12 volts winch, all other is homemade.
@coburnlowman4 жыл бұрын
Do you have some sort of ball or roller bearings down in the trunion or is it just tubing inside tubing? It seems to turn really easily under load. My experience with this type of metal to metal has been hard to turn even with heavy grease.

Just tube in tube

Sir if i could give you 5 likes i would, this is a great idea, i guess its time for a new project. Just a quick question did u instal an extra batery and alternator or are you getting the electricity direct from the tractor?

Whould you consider selling a blue print for that design
@johnblack99264 жыл бұрын
How long did it take in real time to load, and what length was the wood ?
@make_it4 жыл бұрын
The lenght is 5 meters, I did not measured the time, my forest 4 km far away from my house. It takes me about 1,5 - 2 hours to ride there, load full trailer (cut the wood), take a rest, check my forest and ride back.
