Yo when I cut the stems on my plugs i usually wrap the plug in a hand towel. Keeps the plug and stem from flying or hitting something hard with the coral, or just when fragging pieces.

Hey man, something you might want to consider: I also used vibrant to overcome a tank crash which resulted in an outbreak of all sorts of algae (gha, turf, and bubble). I was able to get my rocks clear of algae, but then, like you, my tank developed a problem with cyano and dinos. I was so focused on getting the algae out that I bottomed out on nitrates and phosphates. After a period of heavy feeding and eventually dosing nitrates, the cyano and dinos went away. Fast forward about two months, I am battling gha and bubble algae again (I think I was too relaxed with nitrates and phosphates because it was so difficult to get them back up after bottoming out). I am now resorting back to vibrant again, however I make sure to dose nitrates after my vibrant dose and test nitrates almost daily to make sure they don't bottom out. I am hoping that by dosing nitrates and keeping a readable phosphate level while using vibrant, I will be able to get the desired results without the nasty dino/cyano side effect. That said, my dino problem wasn't as bad as yours, so im not sure if you want to take the chance and dose vibrate again but this time with nitrates (and phosphates if needed).

I recently got a Pandora Paly and a green paly. My green paly has been doing good and opening fully but my Pandora has shrunk a little and has just recently started not opening fully, they open but the tentacles are less pronounced and heads seem smaller, they look to be growing together (the stalks were very long but they shrunk up and a few have been merging together) does this mean they arent healthy or are they merging together or something. I noticed when they were doing good my nitrates were 10-20PPM, now my nitrates are around 5PPM. Salinity is 1.025 temp is 79 during the day and 77 at night. Calcium is 470+ and magnesium is 1390, my Hammer is doing great and so is my GSP and Florida ricordea mushrooms. My ph is 8.0. I do have some Nas Snails, Hermits, a Skunk shrimp and a Mandarin that occasionally cruise over the Palys, would this be the reason?

When you're cutting the "plug stem" off the frag plug, what are you doing to glue it to the rock? are you just adding super glue to the bottom of the disk and placing it in the water on the rock? Been looking to do something similar, but I have been concerned about just doing that with the super glue.

Your Flasher might be a Carpenters fairy wrasse and not a McCoskers... they look a lot alike and can be hard to differentiate. Can anyone else tell what kind of wrasse it is?

I think your tank would benefit a lot from doing color contrast with coral. You can use a chart people use for art to make your tank more beautiful. We have a lot of the same coral and a lot of the same fish, my rock work looks cheaper but my tank looks more colorful even though it isn’t as grown in because of the contrast colors I chose I think.

Try Continuum Equation M, I’ve used it on my tank to kill bubble algae heaps of times. It literally takes about 2 weeks and has never caused me problems nor others I’ve heard using it

I recommend not to treat the tank with phosphate rx when you have a Flasher wrasse. I lost mine and I’m certain it was because of lantinum chloride. I have other wrasses that were ok with this treatment.

Bro. You need a clear box to put new fish in when adding to your tank, leave it in the "Peace keeper" for a few weeks then let him loose. Give time for everyone to get to know him. Imagine some random stranger moved into your house and just stayed there. You would probably be aggressive also. Thus to insure the safety of you and your family . These fish think no different you added a new face to the tank without giving proper time for them to get to know each other. The best practice is to add your least aggressive fish first bro. You know better than that. Stop forgetting the basics!!!!!!
