Trifonov is way ahead of the rest!. Even Martha Argerich is astonished by what Trifonov is capable of doing at the piano. Just listen to his trascendental studies by Lizt and you will realize how good he really is.

Behzod Abduraimov is very underrated. Bcz he can interpret most difficult pieces in a very well mannered taste.

I’d add Eric Lu. His 24 preludes at the 2015 Chopin competition are legendary.

Malofeev was not yet 20 years old when I made this video 5 years ago. I was also not aware of him 5 years ago, but now he is one of my favorite young pianists.

Is there anyone else who is not impressed by Cho? There's nothing he plays which I find interesting or distinctive. Personally I feel that his musical gestures are all copied and learned, and are not his own ideas. Of course this is very typical of competition pianists, and to me Cho is yet another easily forgettable prize winner. I'm not trying to start an argument. I really am curious if Cho has no detractors

I’ve never understood the praise Cho gets. I can’t stand half his interpretations of Chopin and I don’t know any piece where I prefer his playing to Kate Liu’s or Charles Richard Hamelin. Cho’s rubato is awkward to me.

I really enjoy Cho’s piano. Imo his playing is simpler and doesn’t focus so much on himself as he does the piece. At the end of the day tho its personal preference who you enjoy listening to
