I had to rewatch that play three or four times before I can tell … it looks like the ball bounced off the rim and was not inside of the cylinder …. Then Davis knocked it away …. I can see why Houston thought it may have still been inside the cylinder…because it happened so quick…. The ball did not bounce straight up it bounced outwards…. Great game ….

No way that was goal tending. J.D. made the correct decision to knock ball away. It was above the rim but not in the cylinder. Which means ball had no chance of going in. Only one of the few good call refs made the whole game.

CLEARLY over and above the cylinder. Not by much but it doesn’t have to be the whole ball. To me the question is if the ball was not blocked would it have touched the rim. “Any part of the ball over any part of the rim”. It would have grazed it. Given the refs knew it’s reviewable only if there is a whistle on the floor the default should have been to whistle and then review. Tough call and whistle either way. In a hostile environment making that call with no time left needs a Jim Burr or Ed Hightower. Bush move by ‘Bama coach at the end too, especially considering he could have been teed up late in the 2nd half but refs let it slide.

I'm not a fan of either team. That wasn't goaltending but after watching it over and over, it looks like the ball was out of bounds before the game clock was at all 0's. I think they should have reviewed the game clock.

That theft of Edward’s 3 point shot for no reason whatsoever other than the fact that he was fouled while he was shooting just show the level of corruption by these shady refs! It was clear as day he was fouled when he was shooting that 3 point shot when that Bama’s player rushed towards him and ran into him while he was shooting that 3 point shot. If the refs were honest and fair then Edwards’ shot would have counted and he would also be given an opportunity to complete a 4-point play by going to the line to shoot a free throw. But instead the shady refs stripped him of his 3-point shot and called a foul on him or something, I’m not even sure what was the call by that shady ref, but ESPN refused to even show the replay of that shot which led me to think they knew those refs had just cheated the Coogs of a 3 point shot and an opportunity to complete a 4-point play, which Edwards would have done since he is a terrific free throw shooter. If the refs didn’t strip Edwards of that 3-point shot and his free throw then we would of led by 5 or 6 points (Before Edwards’s 3 point shot we were leading by 1 or 2 points, I’m not sure which one is correct) then we would have won that game with the game coming to the final seconds and we got a 5 or 6 point lead. Those shady refs knew that and stepped in to cheat against us just like those other refs did against us during March Madness a few years ago against Michigan. These college refs are so damn corrupt there is no doubt about it whatsoever!

There appears to be about .3 seconds left on the clock when the ball goes out of bounds, therefore the play should have been reviewed…… But oh well it’s a tough loss for my Coogs. We aren’t going anywhere, and will be playing hard all year - and winning !!!

the idea that refs purposefully help one team or the other is and has been the plague of sports. if one team commits more fouls guess what the other team will shoot more free throws. sure the refs will miss some calls, but theyre human and they miss calls for both teams. refs dont intentionally help one team. thats a losers mentality to say "well we lost because of the refs". you lost because you committed more fouls. period

I was at the game live & it’s going to be a rematch in March for sure some way some how lol both teams are top 10 in the nation. Sasser & U of H bigs are unbelievable the best footwork I ever seen bigs have. Bama guards are feisty and quick they destroy Houston defense in the last minute by attacking the rim hard. Most definitely the best game of the year so far

Its a shame that half of you in the comments dont know what goal tending is. It doesn’t have to be touching the rim, it could also be going downward and the ball was most definitely going downward when blocked.

Final comment from me. I don't like to use the term karma but, CNO said after the game, he got the Technical foul for complaining about Houston not getting called for over the back rebounds, but the refs kept calling fouls on us. Basically, this game should not have been this close. The refs allowed them to hang around. So, it's over. It's a win for us. About time we get some breaks our way. RTR!

I have been trying to tell Alabama fans for years, everyone hates Bama bc they can't beat us in football, so they take their hate out on our basketball team. Now that CNO has turned the team into a contender, we get even more hate. Plus having back to back Heisman winners and knocking off the Zags then 14th ranked Houston kitty cats, will definitely put a target on the team.
