The Air Force can keep the B-52 flying for 300 years. Why couldn't the Navy keep the Tom Cat for just as long?

The most beautiful fighter jet ever created. I wish we still had these amazing F-14 Tomcats. They rock the living daylights with those afterburners, and that speed. This real easily, never gets old. Who ever gets tired of seeing this beautiful airplane do these insane flybys, isn't a complete human being!!!! This is what you call "Poetry in FAST Motion". Simply the very best!!!!!

Watching this video does brings me sooo much joy to have served in the U.S. NAVY 1988-93 on board the U.S.S. TEXAS CGN-39. It was truly an honor and pleasure to see this magnificent beast of a fighter plane The Mighty F-14 Tomcat in action. The USS TEXAS along with numerous other vessels were part of THE USS NIMITZ CVN-68 BATTLE GROUP during Operation Desert Storm 1991. I can reacall many times standing lookout seeing flight operations especially the night time flight ops seeing The Mighty Tomcat takeoff with the afterburners at night is a thought and sight forever etched in my mind and heart, also there's a video here on KZfaq " USS NIMITZ & USS TEXAS BOMBS AWAY" of our Tiger Cruise from Pearl Harbor to Alameda Naval Air Station California. In the video you will see some of the F-14 armament in action. Rest Well Mighty Tomcat for you truly served your purpose beyond the call of duty.....I salute you🫡🫡🫡

While active duty at Edward's AFB 98-02 we got buzzed 2 times in two years by some "maverick" in an F-14. Right over the flight line in AB. I throughly enjoyed it!!

In order for a Super Hornet to go supersonic, they have to dive at a negative AOA with heavy throttle. In order for an F-14D to go supersonic, they just need a little bit of space at military power. No afterburner / augmentation required.

In 1990 on tiger cruise the fly by had a sonic boom and blew the glass off an H-2 were were taking for rework. I told my son who was on tiger cruise to cover his ears, Crapped his 9 year old britches when VF -51 accidently went by super sonic at 50 ft level the Admiral was pissed.
