Simulator Games on the PC are a strange world. Wacky, addictive and downright weird. So today we pick out 14 of the very best simulators money can buy. And yes, we sifted through all the janky nonsense.
The great thing about simulators is that they offer something so uniquely different that they invariably bring a new lease of life to gaming. So grab a cuppa, settle down, and take it all in. Anything we missed? Add below in the comments.

Anything missed on this list? Agree or disagree? Let Reggie have it but as always, play nice with each other. Love to you all xxx EDIT: Been looking at other ways to grow the channel. Reviews will always be the foundation here, but alas, they are also the most difficult to get traction with when you're a smaller channel (even being a day late can mean you miss the rush from the bigger publishers who receive early code). Therefore I'm looking at doing more videos of this nature on top of our reviews so that this content can exist more as an evergreen style that is always applicable even months after I create them. Automation probably deserves special mention alongside BeamNG, as it's a pretty cool thing indeed to design your own cars in the former, then port them over to the latter to drive them.

Great vid 👍 I think what also deserves a mention is the emergency series (excluding the trash free to play one) and especially its mods, like Wegberg or Lüdenscheid

I am a hardcore simulator fans. You have definitely missed out Train Sim World 4, Ship Graveyard Simulator (1 & 2), Thief Simulator (1 & 2). Also, Airport Sim and House Flipper are great as well.

England into the Semi finals whilst playing something unrecognisable as football, British F1 & now a new Cockney Gamer video over my Sunday breakfast - great times. 👍 I’ve played or own most of these & love a good sim. As an aging gent who once was a PPL pilot MSFS is my favourite by a country mile but with my aging PC & bank balance so in need of a steering wheel or full flight controls, panels etc does limit some of my enjoyment. MSFS traveling the world & Trucking in EU Truck Simulator with my fleet of hoes as drivers are just complete gems. 😂 Great list of games - many hours can be enjoyed on these for sure. Few others out there -(Gold Rush) now mining simulator, possibly snow runner or mud runner perhaps. 🤔 God now I want to play half of these games all over again. ❤

This is why I love reading comments because I see things I never knew existed. Mining simulator being one of those! I’ll have to check it out. And yes, the Mudrunner series is also great to chill out to! And I’m dreading the Semis…

A few of yours are in my top 14, but some are missing such as: DCS World, TT Isle of Man 3, American Truck Simulator, Cue Club 2. So many great simulators out there! geeza!

ATS was my number two on the list! :-D DCS… man alive, I was so close to putting that in there. Reason being is that I didn’t think it as accessible as some of those other titles, but Christ, what an amazing game once you get over the hump. It’s a great compliment to MSFS too! As for your other suggestions I feel I must check these out now! Thanks for sharing mate 🍻

@@cockneygamer cheers, sorry i missed you mentioned ATS, i thought i was looking at ETS, yes the Cue Club 2 is very very good and very accessible, one of those understated gems, developer is top notch aswell and talks to people in forums and implements suggestions if they are reasonable too :)

ATS: I feel ETS2 should have least gotten a mention if even just as "If you rather drive in Europe, give ETS2 a try instead. Same game, Different region" Solid list. Those police games aren't my thing but my list would definitely have had TSC (Train Sim Classic) or TSW in it and I must admit I am enjoying The Angler COTW and Trans Siberian Train Simulator as well at the moment

100% agree with you about ETS. I wrote it in another comment somewhere as a lot of people said the same and you’re spot on. Both ATS and ETS could be used interchangeably here. Thank you for the comment and other reccomendations! Cheers 🍻

You shoulda done Eurotruck Sim 2 and the American version in the same breath, since they're both basically the same game. I personally prefer the Euro one myself, but do own both with almost all the DLCs. Funniest thing I know is driving around places I've been to see how the compression of the map makes areas hilariously weird. Other than that, spiffing list old bean

Glad you brought up ETS. I replied to someone else in the comment section who said exactly the same as you and youre both bang on… you could happily switch between the two and they would both still be in my top 3 choices. Both excellent and really just comes down to personal preference. Well said mate.

Personally, I would replace Police Simulator Patrol Officers with Patrol Duty, simply because the world feels more immersive in my opinion. You can talk to your collegues at the station, I think you could talk to NPCs as well, but I'm not sure anymore, your character performed little tricks when using gagdets like the handcuffs or parking tickets away from cars and criminals, you had radio chatter, you had static AI spawning in certain missions and you had those action orientated missions, like gang wars, bank robberies or car chases. On the other side, I agree with Contraband Police. It's a pretty fun game ^^ And it's good to hear that Prison Simulator is alright. I had an eye on that game for a longer time. As for the your flight sim tech idea, while it sounds nice, I fear that it would require an always online connection and I absolutely don't want that. I hate when my games have a build in kill switch like that

I’ve never played Patrol Duty so appreciate the comment as now I’m going to have to! As for the tech on Flight sim… I’m not entirely sure but I believe you can actually cut ties with the internet and it simply populates the lands with generic buildings based on what it thinks. So potentially there is a way to keep both sides happy, but I certainly take your point here. Appreciate the comment.

@@cockneygamer Yeah, it seems like flight sim has a kind of offline mode. It would be cool if both sides can be made happy. I just fear that the suits will meddle with it too much. And I hope you enjoy the game. I'm somewhat afraid that I might oversold it ^^; The thing with it is, that you have to level up a bit first, before you unlock the pistol and the missions that involve shooting. And just like with Patrol Officers, it has that simulator jank ^^;

Reggie, quick question; Why ATS not ETS2? Imo ETS2 is better than ATS, more content (due to excising longer)

Really good question mate! Honestly, both brilliant, but overall I just prefer ATS because I prefer the trucks, generally prefer the locations over Europe and as for content, I’m not sure if ATS is now actually bigger with the content is has vs Europe? Honestly I’m not sure about that last point but it keeps on growing (I see they have three more states in the works!). But yes, pick and choose between the two.. they are both equally brilliant and both would sit happily at number 2 in the list.

Would cities skylines be considered a simulator?

Glad you asked because I was having the same question in my head when pulling this list together. Not just cities skylines, but other games too! I decided they were probably more in the “city builder/management” category that would live alongside things like Planet Coaster, Parkitect, Manor Lords etc. There was even a bit of me that thought about removing BeamNG as one could argue it’s a racing game like Gran Turismo or Forza, but I think it’s different enough to warrant being a “simulator”. Good question though… I think there are talking points to be made for other games and what category they potentially fall under is quite subjective.

@@cockneygamer might be a dumb question but do you think transport fever two would also fall under the builder/management category? I think it would but I’m not 100% sure.

@BedRockgood Personally yes… id agree it’s a management style builder game. Sim City, Big Ambitions, Civ 6… they all fall under that. The way I view it is if the game is placing me in control of one person vs a nation or city then it’s going to start falling into that category. So is it simulating the experiences of that one individual… so a pilot, a truck driver, a cop, a prison guard etc. Usually they will be in first person view for that reason where you are a “day in the life”.
