"Dress to impress yourself" is such a great piece of advise. I'm American and feel like so many women here buy clothing and accessories just to impress others or cover up there lack of confidence and it drives me insane! Love your channel, your straightforwardness, and your fun while informative content! Oh, how I wish I were French...🙂
@fabulouslifeinchrist13494 жыл бұрын
I think that a lot of people who grew up without dress to impress and those who have money dress to show off. People like showing off designers. Most of my clothing have little to no brands on the other. If they do, I make sure it is tiny and not huge across the whole leg or arm. I have one express shirt though because I like black and white but the rest have tiny tiny logos.

Confidence is so important. When I was growing in my natural hair color (which is salt & pepper) and had 2 tone hair it was a challenge but I still dressed well and styled my hair so I would feel good about myself. This in turn made me project a confidence and when I went out I never even saw anyone staring at my hair. Confidence is your most important accessory. I'm glad that you are suggesting "less is more" and not to over accessorize. Too many fashion influencers are pushing all the same products (Missoma jewelry for example).

So glad I found your channel! I was born and raised in Venezuela during its golden age of fashion (my opinion lol). Even after 30 years of living in the USA, I still follow the rules of fashion from Venezuela, which are surprisingly similar to the French way. Personally, I can’t stand athleisureware. It’s lazy fashion but it’s very popular here in the States. I refuse to succumb to that trend! It just goes against my nature lol

Lol! You must have stuck out like a sore thumb! French fashion is known around the world but is truly followed by the French and by a small group of people outside of France. Everyone has their own flavor and you will succumb to athleisure at some point if you actually want to be trendy at least for a second.

Hey, Frederique, I only discovered you the other day but I'm loving your channel! It's absolutely true that you should find your own style. I love bright colours and I'm known for that, although I do mix them with neutrals as well. I also love flowery prints and frilly, lacy clothes. It's not for everybody but hey, it's my style and I like it and feel good in it. I like to be "with it" but I don't necessarily want to look like everybody else. And dressing for the occasion is so important too - I like to look good, but I wouldn't go shopping looking like I was going to a wedding or like I was going to the beach! Maybe I have some French in me :)

:) Merci! Et...continue.
