In a world of FDA regulation and GMOs, you never know what the hell is inside your food. A disgusting amount of chemicals and additives go into processed foods. The worst part is, many are LEGALLY allowed to go unlabelled.
In the last few years of cutting out animal products from my diet, I've slowly learned about foods that I was still eating that actually weren't vegetarian! I felt so blindsided and grossed out, so hopefully this can help enlighten you to some very unsafe and disgusting ingredients that are being added to common foods (sometimes without our knowledge!). Whether you are vegetarian or not, these are things you reallllllly don't want to be consuming...trust me.
Here are some shocking foods that seem safe and meat free, but actually contain animal products! It is super important for vegetarians (or anyone that cares about their health) to know what to look for in their foods. These ones snuck up on me for far too long!
-Marshmallows: contain GELATIN aka animal bones and ligaments
-Veggie Soups: usually based in BEEF and CHICKEN broths
-Refried beans: LARD (or animal fat) is often added for flavour
-Cheese: RENNET, the stomach lining of slaughtered calves, is used for processing
-Red candies and foods: E120, also known as CARMINE, carminic acid or natural red #4, is extracted from the ground-up shell of the female cochineal insect. Cochineal can be found in food coloring, jellies, lollypops, strawberry milk flavoring, strawberry flavored yogurts, and many other red colored foods. Cochineal is also used to color lipsticks, clothing and pill coatings.
-Gummy candies: contain GELATIN and RED DYE
-White sugar: often refined and bleached through charred cattle BONES..yum!
-Yogurt: some brands contain GELATIN and FISH OIL
-Natural vanilla flavor: made from beaver butt juice, called CASTOREUM..use it to mark their territory and its FDA approved to be unlisted..
-Orange Juice: some brands add fish oil (OMEGA 3S) and LANOLIN (sheeps wool ) for vitamin d
-Bananas: sprayed with shellfish derivative to preserve called CHITOSAN
Bagels and breads: L CYSTEINE dough conditioner made from goose and duck feathers, and sometimes human hair
Hard coated candies SHELLAC from bug juice to make outer coating
-Beer and wine: clarified using ISINGLASS, which is a gelatin from fish bladders; Guiness is one brand to look out for!
Worcestershire Sauce ANCHOVIES, check all condiments!
*Capitalized names of ingredients to look out for!
Stay educated and aware blissful beings!
Blessings, Prasiddha

You are not properly informed. Due about 6 to 7 years ago we started the process of hidden inspection in factories, modes of production, animal ethics. Most of the artificials you mentioned are totally banned. You are mistaken about bananas, bread, yogurt, and two more items. As for dyes, yes, they are still present in food production as edible. However, thank you for the exhibition.

Hi everyone, I recently decided to become a vegan, and in searching for "what can I safely eat" recipes, came across a very useful list of "AVOID" Ingredients. I wrote them all down and now take with me when shopping, some wording is specifically "highlighted" to get you familiar with the sneaky terms used, and some you may recognise but never gave it a thought they were bad for you, so here we go; Artificial flavours/Colours. "Enriched" Wheat. Potassium Sorbate. "Hydrogenated" Oils. Soy Lecethin. Monosodium "Glutamate" (MSG) A slow poison hiding behind such as "Natural" ~"Flavouring" ~"Yeast Extract" ~ "Autolysed Yeast Extract" ~ "Disodium Guanylate". Textured Protein. Anything "Hydrolysed". Sugar. HFCS High Fructose Corn Syrup. "Corn Syrup". I would give "Corn" related anything a wide birth, seeing as 90% of all corn is produced by "Monsanto" "GMO" enough said there!. Polysorbate. Potassium "Benzoate". "Asesulflame". Sucrose ~ Splenda is simply a sugar that is "Chlorinated". Carbon "Tetrachloride" ~ ""Trichlorethelene" ~ "Methylene" ~ "Chloride", "All Deadly". Aspartame (Trade Marked) NutraSweet. "Soy". "Canola" Oil. "Caffeine" I added this (my own personal view/researched) because people seem to think they get a pick me up with a morning coffee, or that can of energy drink gives them a boost!, call it what you will. In fact it's a "Poison", once you consume caffeine (especially canned drinks) your body automatically triggers the release of Adrenalin, this is the feel good rush you (think) your getting, but its a reaction to the poison in your system, which then uses up your valuable body fluids trying to dilute and flush it out as quickly as possible!. Maltodextrin, now this ingredient is found in everything from Soups, Sauces, Stock Cubes, Tablets, Medicines, "Concentrated" juices, Blah Blah Bah!. It's a thickening agent, which "Chemically" I don't want to put in my body (personal preference), hence the dustbin full of food I threw away!. Some athletes use it?? because it can go through the system quickly!, less energetic people will store this chemical as its hard to process so gets stored as fat. So there you have it in a nutshell, choose your food wisely!. Now ..where did I put that baking potato!.. :)

I remember the news paper where some vegetarian had bought can of pineapples and started to eat those, just later to find a human finger in the mixture. Also another one when a vegetarian couple was drinking ''orange'' juice, and almost emptied the whole bottle... When they emptied the bottle to a glass, there was mouse skin without bones or internals or meat. The acids in that orange juice had smelted whole mouse expect the skin. So even if you are trying to avoid these things, accidents happens and disgusting stuff ends up in your meal.

Thank you for all this valuable information, brother. So many additives that are found today in “food” to slowly poison us. Another one I’ve found is Xanthan Gum, which can be extracted from wheat and/or soy. It’s an additive that causes allergic reactions at its best and digestive issues such as mucus clogging in the digestive tract at its worst. I’ve noticed that, and Maltodextrin (as you mentioned) as well as Locust Bean Gum, Carageenan, and Guar Gum are being added to vegan sweets, specifically vegan ice cream. Beware, friends and family, beware.

As long as animals have a fullfilled life iwouldn't care, we alll need to die. A fast clean hunt is actually the most compassionate way to get your meat meal. The cheaply produced meat sold in uttermost market/ butcher's shop, implies much moor cruel animal mass breeding. To increase the profit margin they wan't animal to move around, so they put the poor beeings in very constrict enviroment. Obviously because of the not appropriat attitude the live stock suffers from mental and physical stress which results in a high ilness rate, who needs to be adressed putting tons of antibbiotics in the feed. Meanwhile a fast death given by a experienced hunters, prevents the animal from experiencing the sufferings deriving from getting old and ill later in their life, which soon or later leades to be teared appart by some hungry predatore while being half way alive.

Just wanted to note that the castoreum from the beaver CAN be vegetarian. There are something like beaver farms in North America where they get it from. Also in Europe the castoreum is not used since the beaver is listed as an endangered species. And Omega 3 can also be extracted from seaweed. So it may be vegan.

Dayum! The things we actually didn't really want to know :) LOL! OMG L-cystine? Actually, I do want to know. I did know about animal farming and the dangers to the oxygen of the planet. There are positive things one can include, unfortunately most of the book I wrote is on another computer - maybe I can resurect it. But there are many things one can do to assist one's health. E.g., clean out the liver by eating a carrot (organic of course) salad with lemon juice and raisins. Add neem to one's water in the morning to alkalize the body, etc. :) Good job, you're clearly in Swamiji's grace, highly intelligent and beautiful keep offering solutions - you'll help many, many people!

I understand that as a Hindu, we don't eat meat because it generally harms/ hurts/ kills an animal. I wanna ask , is it OK then to use products that have animal derivatives as long as the animal/ creature is not harmed in anyway? being that mabe the animal has either already died natural causes , or if it has shed it's hair, or if it has abandoned it's shell, etc,etc.

Is yeast vegan?
@jrsygrl72
@jrsygrl72 2 жыл бұрын
This is something I struggle with. Yeast have "sex". There is a video here on YT, showing yeast under a microscope, moving around, moving towards each other, and yes, having sex. 😏 Yes, I know they don't have spinal cords, etc. But I just don't feel right about consuming anything made with yeast. It just doesn't feel right. I know it sounds extreme, but I just can't do it, at this point in time. Anyway, that's just me, lol. 🤷🏻‍♀

in ukraine sugar is extracted from beet. to filtrate sugar syrup the manufacturer uses LIMESTONE. it took me few hours to look it up... i heard from some russian guy on a tvshow that they use burned bones( bone char or bone charcoal) to filter sugar. b.t.w. after the limestone is outused, it can be used as fertilizer for soil. comment on me if i missed something! please i need to know more about this. limestone(as filter) is sold in ukraine 9usd per ton. bone char is sold minimum i found 700usd per ton. like and comment. it is an order.

Great and shocking info. Thank you very much Of all, i did not expect banana and orange juice to be on the list. I have a question here. In India you see bananas being sold on carts on the roadside. Are those too sprayed with what you say? Or you mean the one's sold in big supermarket? Also one more humble suggestion. I request you to switch off the back Bhangra music while you start entering the core parts of your speech. I suggest you play the music in the beginning as an introduction and at the end. I find it a bit distracting and a bit irritating. Sorry no offense intended

Vanilla is a flavoring derived from orchids of the genus Vanilla, primarily from the Mexican species, flat-leaved vanilla. The word vanilla, derived from vainilla, the diminutive of the Spanish word vaina, is translated simply as "little pod". Wikipedia Not everything is a conspiracy...vanilla doesn't come from beaver anus...there's no beaver anus factories out there, come on... It's ok, I'll still wife you.

Jesus I know where vanilla comes from come on.. 😂 when a product has “natural vanilla flavoring” it is from castoreum. Google it.
@maryharkin3360
@maryharkin3360 6 жыл бұрын
Actually, since beavers aren't hunted for their pelts anymore, castoreum is rarely used as a flavoring agent. What castoreum is available is actually milked by hand from living beavers, so there isn't much available. (You thought working at McDonald's was a lousy job.) Natural vanilla flavoring could be made from cow dung, though.

Okay, I’m vegan but I had no idea about the bananas. I’m going to have to ask the head of the farmers warehouse if he also does this. He grows all the food behind the warehouse with a team, so I know where my food is grown. But freaking shellfish?!?! I don’t even care if it’s just the outside and not the inside! Every dollar bill is basically a vote, and what you spend money on is what you vote for to be sold. I can not support nor vote for the innocent death of shellfish 😳😤🤯🤬🥺🥺😡😡😡😡😡🥺🥺🥺🥺😡😡🥺😠😩🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺😓😓😓😓😥😰😨😨😰😥😓

The raw sugar is stored in large warehouses and then transported into the sugar refinery by means of transport belts. In the traditional refining process, the raw sugar is first mixed with heavy syrup and centrifuged to wash away the outer coating of the raw sugar crystals, which is less pure than the crystal interior. Come on...it's ok, I'm still going to wife you.

Great Video! I have a million questions re this subject so I'll ask my main one & hope you will see it 1 year later: I'm following a satvic diet to the best of my knowledge with Swamiji so I've been told not to eat mushrooms or anything made with yeast. Can you tell me why they are included in my no list? Also I'm assuming now that bananas are also on the no list. I only eat organic so does that make a difference? Thanks
@KundaliniYogini
@KundaliniYogini 6 жыл бұрын
You can research what brand of bananas you can buy that are safe. In regards to Satvik diet, eggs mushroom and yeast all carry karma and pain patterns from the being just as meat does. So it adds more violence and depression into you.

They do not use beaver secretions anymore as vanilla flavoring. Actual vanilla is cheaper and easier to get. But it could be in your favorite candle or perfume
@micheleabate146
@micheleabate146 6 жыл бұрын
There are special beaver farms in which the animals strip off the precious secretions on the edge of a can buried in the ground, so there is no need to be kille beavor anymore. Meanwhie castor flavor can also be produced fully artificiall as the chemical form is known.
