Once upon a time, becoming a princess sound like a dream come true, but what does it actually mean to be a princess today? Well, being part of the British Royal family comes with a whole lot of rules and protocols you’re required to follow as a working member. Sure, there are tiaras, royal balls and state dinners, but those dinners have their own set of rules that probably won't even cross your mind when you’re hanging out with your family in public.
A lot of the rules revolve around the Queen being the first, the first to stand or sit, the first to eat and speak. As a royal, you are required to follow her lead, so no walking in front of the Queen, no eating after Her Majesty is finished. The Queen even has a say on wedding dress choices for royal brides and which family members can travel with who. But there are other rules that the other members of the royal family are required to adhere to on their own and have also become part of royal tradition. Such as how to sit properly as a Royal, words to use in public, and keeping their coats on in public. Though some of these rules are a little crazy-strict, it’s no surprise when they are broken occasionally.

They have lived their lives like this so it very easily and quickly becomes normal for them. It isn’t like learning rules as it’s they way they’ve always lived (except those marrying into the family and they’ll pick it up fairly soon).

I know that the rules that are very strict but are there you do not have to rent if you work there and you get paid while the queen owns your room and rent is not the cheapest so its no the worst.

It's been done before. The queen's grandfather, George V, wasn't supposed to be king. His older brother, Prince Albert Victor, was but ended his own life at age 28 in 1892. Three years earlier, Rudolf, the Crown Prince (heir to the throne) of the Austo-Hungarian Empire, had done the same thing at age 30, together with his mistress. And if you think etiquette and rules of the English Windsor dynasty are stifling, the Austrian Hapsburg rules were so rigid that news of the tragedy was significantly delayed getting to the Emperor and Empress because the information had to be delivered by someone of high enough rank and without interrupting them. In 1943, the former Prince Alastair of Connaught (who was deprived of his title of prince at age three) died in mysterious circumstances at age 28 in Canada. He had been rejected due to incompetence from an honorary position heading a Canadian regiment, and supposedly drank himself into such a state that died of the cold near an open window, which he may or may not have "fallen out of."

Who actually cares, all they report is whom wears what. No one can live by all their rules, that's why they smoke and drink so much, and look older than their years.. Like my freedom and can go when or where I want. To each it's own, if you're interested in their lives.

@@ZoomRaze - it must have changed recently, , even though the queen discouraged by banning it, her sister Margaret, smoked 60 cigarettes a day. There we're other royals that smoked; Harry, and Fergie ..They all have quit since then.
