Thank you for sharing your expertise. Not being a professionel I get a lot of satisfaction when someone explains my feeling when I smelling a certain perfume. My favorite for fall will always be Bois des îles. And I also own the Vernis à ongles Bois des Îles. Perfect match. Deep warm red, perfect hue, not scary, very attracting. You would like to feel the touch of that hand. And btw, I miss Rouge dHermès.

I have the EDP and also like it. It is less woody and more spicy/clovey I thought. Parfum was more suited for this list.

Always wanted to try Dries Van Noten. Great list with some selection we don't see often I would put Santal Blush, Villoresi's Sandalo, Must de Cartier Pour Homme, Kenzo jungle pour homme on the list (and Santal 33 but don't tell anyone).

Rumor is Dries is coming back under a different name. Ohhh, some good references. haven't tried them in a long time. Especially Santal Blush re-release. I smelled Santal 33 after years this week and thought it was more interesting than I remembered (also don't tell anyone) 🤝

Thank you! unfortunately very hard to find now that it has been discontinued. Ebay/Etsy or sometimes on Fragrance FB groups possibly and they usually go for a premium.

I think Santal 33 was a unique spin, but thats australian sandalwood. I have no idea how that sort of dna/smell got so popular, it has ni sweetness

Yes, exactly. I smelled it after a long time this week and it's more peculiar than I remembered especially the Leather component. Yet somehow gotten so popular.

Pradeep- Are you familiar with KSTDC (Karnataka) Sandalwood Oil? I was considering buying a bottle as prices continue to increase. Also- I want to add Cartier Oud & Santal to the discussion. Soft and smooth style of Santal. 🙏

I have heard of this KSTDC Export oil but never got the chance to smell it. Heard it's good. Something to check out during my Next visit. One can get a plot in India with some of those prices. Ah yes, the Cartier Ouds. Remember smelling the Oud & Oud. Will check out the Santal and the others.🙏🏻

Hello🙂 I liked Santal Blanc...Nice creamy modern Sandalwood. But I kept getting nose blind with it for some reason. Couldn't smell much after 30 mins. So decided not to purchase. Hope that helps

Demachy...The Kim Jun Iisle of perfumery. Sandalwood gets too milky/creamy (...to cloying) for me, so I am far from its biggest fan. What do you think; do I have my head stuck in the sand?

All hail Demachy! Not a fan of Swood eh.. could be multiple reasons, the synthetic sandals, the climate, way it's used (not a lot of good ones), better as other applications like incense or your natural preference to leave it as a supporting/base note🤔
