Vivobarefoot discontinues all of people's favorite models. And now they're pushing the gay agenda making men's more feminine and women's more masculine (on the kids models too). Only only model left is Brough and it's discontinued and had issues from the get-go. And the vivos are basically the only ones in your huge review with wide enough toe box and it's a primary aspect of minimal shoes.

Would you ever do a review on ZAQQ shoes or Wildling shoes? ZAQQ has an amazing selection and some of the most professional buisness type shoes I have seen on the market, along with tons of other types of shoes. And the Wildling shoes was a company first designed for kids shoes, and now they do adult shoes as well and they are some of the most stylish barefoot shoes I have seen. I am not connected to either of these companies, they were just two companies O took notice 9f in my search or barefoot shoes. Also some barefoot shoe companies have printable sizing guides that might be helpful for finding your fit.

To add to what you said at the end, I don’t know why, but I recently just started liking sandles. I have the pair of sandles from Xero shoes with the lizards on them and people always say I have the Jesus sandles. I’m not religious, but I take it as a compliment because I’m on a spiritual journey like he was. Yesterday, my first line leader at my Army Reserves unit heard my foot pop, looked down at my feet, then looked back at me like I deserved to be laughed at, but I enjoy feeling comfortable. Comfort is confidence. I’d pick sandles over work boots or Jordans any day.

I love the old high top fieyues. The new ones feel lower quality, less grippy soles, and fall apart easier. New ones are still worth it for the price, that mentioned. I’ve been loving Whitin Trail Runners. A little cushy for barefoot feeling, but zero drop, suuuper comfy, stylish and versatile.

I don't think that Fei Yue is a barefoot shoe. But also FYI there are two types of Fei Yue shoes that are completely different companies; the original Chinese brand and made Fei Yue and the European redesign Fei Yue. The original Chinese Fei Yue are used and worn by Shaolin Monks and martial artists all over the world. The Fei Yue as featured in this video that are a European narrow foot redesign. The European Fei Yue have actually screwed the original Chinese Fei Yue company, they managed to get exclusive rights to legally market sell their European Fei Yue all over the world, boxing in the originals Fei Yue to only be legally marketed sold in China, only to be exported in much smaller quantities by individuals.

I've bought three pairs of Feiyue's from random ebay/amazon sellers. First pair was a very flexible, moderately thin sole. Next two pairs had super thick squishy soles, very weird. All had wonderfully grippy soles. All of the soles wore completely through in two or three months of daily casual wear and moderate trail running. Not high milage either. It is just real soft rubber, to be grippy, but it wears quick. I'd still buy them (they are cheap, $20-$25) if I knew I was getting the thin soled version.

Thanks so much for the video. I've been using Vivobarefoots even when they were called Terra Plana. And I backed Lems and Bedrock Sandals when they were just starting out. I'm really happy they've stayed in business and have grown! I agree the Lems Boots are amazing and with the waterproof version, I can finally wear something for the New England winters! As for the sandals, I've lived in Luna Sandals even back when Barefoot Ted made the first batch. I've run half marathons in them and even used to run on some melting snow when the weather would start warming up. But they are not cheap and I started looking into the Shamas last year. Looks like I'll have to try them! Now if some of your subscribers are wondering what to wear over their barefoot shoes during the winter and they don't want to wear the Lems ones, the one to look into would be the NEOS Villager Overshoes. They're pretty dorky, but when you have to deal with snow and/or rain and you've got just barefoot shoes, they can't be beat since you are still wearing your barefoot shoes and then the NEOS are nothing more than waterproof coverings.

If you are someone who hikes or does anything similar outdoors and is looking for a great waterproof boot, I highly recommend the Xcursion from XeroShoes. I've only been on one hike with them, but they're my favorite boot that I've ever worn. They still have a ground feel, but they have a bit of a thicker sole like you would want in a hiking boot. Also, they fit me very well; my toes have room to splay, but they don't feel too loose. And the waterproofing is exceptional. When I took them out hiking, it was a cloudy day and sprinkling. I dipped the front of my boot in a stream to test how waterproof they are and no water soaked through.

Great video! I'm lucky to have a Vivo store in London so I get to try them on before I buy - no return wastage. You covered every category but the dress shoe. Sadly I do have to suite up on occasion and needed a proper dress show and Vivo got the job done there at price with their hand made leather dress shoes. The original pair had a leather sole which I had replaced. I think they have upgraded that to a more durable material.

I hate to stereotype but I have been wondering if this is why Asian countries have done better with covid. It seemed like it took like 2mo in the US before they started saying maybe think about wearing a homemade mask. Also side note, this guy's version of weird looking is different than mine.
@kittie479
@kittie479 4 жыл бұрын
@@tayloranderson456 i reckon that's a contributing factor, but specific to Covid19, it's also how ppl in Asian countries have no issues wearing masks at this time. It's not something we (generally) find oppressive. Better to overreact and wear a mask than risk getting sick. And we realise our limitations, so in Malaysia at least, we started the lockdown early. Around 3K cases. The Health DG consulted the Prime Minister, and the govt put in place the rules (complete lockdown for red zones), police, and later, army assisted with the roadblocks. Ppl abide by the lockdown (yes, there are ppl who complain, especially those who depend on sales such as hawkers, food kiosk and food truck operators, babysitters/nannies etc), but we abide by it. In my country, testing for Covid if you have symptoms and treatment at the govt hospitals are free. We started reduced restrictions lockdown a few weeks ago. By 9th June, we're told lockdown will end, or at least even less restrictions. I reckon it's the same in many other Asian countries (I'm focused on my own). This is also probably due to the culture - Asians in Asian countries have a more collectivistic culture, as opposed to the individualistic culture of many Western countries (especially in The States)
@jambononi
@jambononi 4 жыл бұрын
@@tayloranderson456 I mean, I hate to be that guy but, it did kind of start in China ;) . But yeah, places like South Korea were very systematic in their approach, whereas most western countries were debating the psychological impact of telling people to lockdown too, whereas most Asian countries appreciate the systematic approach. Both have the pros and cons of course! And to put it in very simplistic terms usually Asia = efficiency and West = Creativity, however there are a tonne of exceptions to this, but it's a child like way of looking at two very vast groups of people. And obviously I hope this is a fair observation that is more about each places approach as opposed to their limitations, obviously Asia is hugely creative but typically even their creative pursuits have a different vibe. Like Toyota who famously incrementally change their products thousands of times a year which both innovates and improves efficiency, instead of constantly going back to the drawing board. In fact the more I think about it, the more stupid it is really, but still, might explain, to some extent, why they were faster to react.

20:43 Coming here more than a year later, and now there are some barefoot shoes that don't look weird, especially Lems and Feelgrounds. I'm looking at the Lems Chillum and Drifter and the Feelgrounds Highrise Knit, and they might be indistinguishable from normal shoes. It makes it a lot easier to come into this as a first-timer.

If the shoe seller doesn't have the insole length listed, write them and ask. You need .5 to 1.2cm after your toe in most shoes, depending on preference. Check your shoes out to see what you prefer. Sometimes they list sizes by the length of your feet. It's still good to find out the insole length. Also, ask about the width of the insole if you have wider than normal feet.

Your review is how I found out about Lems boots!! It was my foray into barefoot shoes so I bought a pair of the brown ones and absolutely love them! Bold yet comfortable. 🙌 I’ll admit I do miss my beloved and trusty Adidas Superstars. But the benefits for me of having switched to barefoot shoes far outweigh looking good with brand image. 😎 I just can’t go back to a regular shoe anymore. Thanks for such a great and informative vid. Really appreciate it!

I too have Morton’s Neuroma in my left foot and absolutely cannot wear Nike shoes. About 3 or 4 years ago I discovered Altra Lone Peak shoes which are box toes and the most comfortable shoe I have worn. Altra shoes do not cause any problems with my Neuroma.

I'm pretty flat footed already, I wear converse a lot which are super flat....and I love the wide toe box I can see in all these shoes, something converse is the opposite, very narrow toe box so I always size up. I definitely used to buy shoes that were too small for me when I was younger and now if I can buy shoes in wide I do. These all look good, might give barefoot shoes a try.

I'm so sad Lems stopped making the Mariners. I have been a big Sperry's guy for years, but lately I've been wanting to get some boat shoes that are more barefoot with a wider toe box but Lems discontinued the Mariners. I've been keeping an eye out for some 13's on eBay for a month or so.

Damn dude! Cool to see how many lightweight zero-drop options are out there these days. May have to upgrade from my Luna sandals to something that keeps rocks out from between my foot and the sole. Ayyy and the sandals show up too! Luna Leadville Pacers for me. And yeah they're a conversation magnet for absolute sure.. I just want my feet to feel great, leave me alonee!

Just a thought: if you order two sizes and send one back, it isn't bad for the environment unless they're made to order, right? Like, because the other one you send back has already been made.

Also I need one of these companies (Lems/Xero) to start making flip flops! I've tried a few different types of barefoot sandals and I just can't get a good, secure, comfortable fit that doesn't develop blisters. I like flip flops. And barefoot flip flops just don't exist. Edit: Maybe I try some shammas.....

The Vivo shoes tend to have the soles dry out after a few years, then they crack, and are no good. Customer service could Not be bothered to help in any real way. I was not asking for a pair of shoes free but merely answers as to why two pairs of pricey shoes failed and other shoes, such as my Adidas Gazelle, etc, while worn out, were still in wearable condition. Vivo, for the prices they charge, could at least offer resole service, but do not. Vivo has a great concept, but their customer service flops. Thank you for posting this comparison, I will look at some of the other brands reviewed.
