Just wondering, how would the 32 core Max MacBook perform with the 2 TB SSD instead of 1 TB option? I am hoping the 2 TB drives would be faster. This would help justify the cost of a larger drive.

If there's an “Apple tax” with the Macbook Pro, which tax is getting applied to the Razer Blade? Every single component in the Macbook Pro is on another level (screen, speakers, keyboard, trackpad, ssd speeds, CPU speed, graphics, build quality, battery life…). Hard to believe these laptops are the same price. Let's hope PC gaming laptops dont adopt the notch (they will) or that the multi-GB games from iPad dont migrate over to Mac (they will) or the insufferable bedroom gamer teenagers will have nothing left to cry about. It's getting silly now.

@@tonyhawk123 I agree with you. Windows based laptops have been actual rippoffs, there just was not any competition from a decent product to make it clear. When one needed to do anything productive on the go you just had to go with the razers or so from the market. Laptops in general had to go for a simpler instruction set like arm or risc v, the efficiency results against x86 are inmense. The slower they move to it, the more ground will apple gain in their market share.

It's better to expect windows make a surface for gaming. Apple M1 32GB just has little bit lower performance as 3050 4GB. Surface has the same thermal control and weight control. Windows give user more free, this will eventually help users in long term. Imaging one day 99% of people don't know anything about computer, then apple can trick you whatever they want. Today, apple usually make new version of the same product each year. They only make changes like 4 years once, and the change is not more than to intel 12 to 13. Apple also sue small companies as much as they can, this company has moral problem, in long term, this company won't benefit to people.

Coming back here after my own purchase of the 16 inch one, the anti-reflective coating on the screen is shocking. The direct impact is that you go to any other laptop and you have to turn the brightness way higher to see the things clearly in normal lighting situations. I use the macbook out in public places with 40% brightness or lower and everything is super clear on the screen. There's something amazingly satisfying about a screen with no reflections, it feels like an object rather than a mirror and it's very subtle

Another error: the Splash Fox test uses primarily GPU (not CPU!), as the renderer for it is Blender's Eevee renderer (which uses OpenGL). Blender's Cycles renderer can use CPU, GPU, or a mix of both, depending on the configuration (though it doesn't have support for Metal, so it can only use CPU on macOS). Also when running Blender tests, it's best to give it one run to warm up the shader compiler and load all the data into memory, then run it again (usually shaves off a few seconds).

At 9:55, the file size was exactly the same. Windows uses different units for file sizes than macOS. Windows uses the binary system and is showing about 204 Gibibytes, while macOS uses the decimal system which is about 220 Gigabytes. A gibibyte is 2^30 bytes while a gigabyte is 10^9 bytes.

@TheCbsghost 2 жыл бұрын
@@supdawg7811 It should not be an issue only if the asynchronous coping time is less than GPU processing time. Not all process can be done on GPU efficiently, therefore CPU may have some processing code to run between 2 GPU jobs, especially for motion graphics. You can imagine how often raw frame buffer needs to offload between host and device side with dedicated GPU. On the PC Market it makes almost NO sense to buy a one-size-fits-all laptop because you can get better performance with a upgradable workstation and a laptop with enough power on the go for the same money or even less if you are able to use the workstation as a fileserver etc. too. That IS NOT POSSIBLE with Macs as it makes no financal sense. I know longtime Mac users who switched to Windows because of that - with each additional seat needed the savings get more... @@IC-kf4mz Intel chips are MUCH more power hungry than the new Apple chips, and so they drain the battery much quicker. So you'll often get amazing performance if the device is plugged in, but really bad (or at least, lesser) performance if the device isn't. The battery being below 40% already is likely because the tests these guys are running do consume a lot of power. When you use the studio version of davinci resolve you have the option to use "nvidia" encoder instead of the "native" encoder. You can actually see it on your screen in the export settings that you have selected "native" encoding. Which renders these tests faulty. Thanks for the comparison! I had a Razer (2016 model) and the USB system was horribly underpowered, plugged in or not. External USB HDs would have problems and if you were copying files to a USB device the USB mouse and keyboard would stop working while the copying happened. It's sad to see they still have USB power problems.

That's also the reason for seeing about 930GB when you insert a 1TB SSD into your Windows-machine. On MacOS you see the drive with 1000GB. SSD/HDD manufactures use also the by 10 potencies because the drives appear "larger". No idea why Microsoft didn't change from the by 2 potencies until today 🤷‍♂️

You presuming something that is not true (PC laptops with better cooling). The cooling in the MacBook Pro 16" can dissipate far more than the maximum 46W SOC can generate all while fans are at idle speed. I have never seen a PC (laptop or desktop) able to do that with ANY processor.
