@@martinbench3657 In the early to mid 60’s singles out sold albums by quite a lot. That changed with the Beatles albums and acts like The Jimi Hendrix Experience. That was my pattern to a degree though I didn’t start buying records until until mid 60’s. I started seeing Punk bands at the Whiskey A Go-Go, Roxy and Madame Wongs. I realized a bit late that a lot of these bands would never make an album so I started buying singles again. Unfortunately not very many.

All the multiple contests and endless V.C.L.T's are ridiculous to say the least. Shout outs are a bit nauseating as well. But your videos have always been informative and entertaining so I keep watching them. This one on psychedelic bands is no exception. Thanks for always giving me something to look forward to! All of those albums sound far out 😎 dude!!!

I love stereo Psych. Some complain it is gimmicky. Oh well, I love it. Side one of that Foxygen album is darn near perfect. That Diane Coffee album has a 60’s vibe and is surprisingly good. His 2nd album has a 70’s vibe. I like it but not near as much. His 3rd album has a 80’s vibe. I’ve only heard it once and it did not click.

You’ve peaked my interest on some of bands. Some good newer psyche out there, Moon Goose, Osees, Sonic Flower and some King Gizzard. I need to look into more 60’s psyche.

Good to see St John’s Green made a return. I had a few of these, the Churchill’s on the wall and Easter are 2 of my favorites. The 10 Foot Hose ( or whatever the title was) I struggled with. Write down a few to check out

I used to do shout outs but for the most part stopped. Some of them turned out to be wacko flakes. Feeling obligated is a real thing and like you I don’t feel obligated much any more.

Got the Twink one, that is pretty wild, blow your head wide open psych...he used to be around on Instagram, showing photos from his archives and hawking stuff from his web shop but he seems to have dropped off the radar...he was in my area once or twice collaborating with a local band who backed him up on one of his more recent projects...haven't heard the rest as yet but seen most shown over the years...cheers Rich!

I use to buy every 60's psych album I came across up until about 3 - 4 years ago. Then Diana (Diggininthecr8) introduced me to the new neo-psych. Ever since then I almost never listen to the 60's psych anymore. BTW - the New Candys are touring the west coast in March, you should go see them. Wish they were coming to my area.

I don’t go to many shows any more. I remember in the 80’s some of the psych and garage revival bands did it better than the actual 60’s bands.

@@nitedreamer23 If you would like to discover some neo-psych bands what I would suggest is that you watch some of my videos starting with fav five for 2021 and then work backwards. In each video I provide a sound sample of the record I'm showing which might help in determining if you like the band.

I had Salvation (album on KZfaq), Kaleidoscope and HP Lovecraft (behind you) back in the day. Also there one of my all-time favourites The Insect Trust - thought you were going to mention it, no one seems to. Still play it and album sleeve on my wall.

I’ve looked into the UK Kaleidoscope reissues and they’re damn expensive They have a great song Sky Children but the one you showed is good too Kinda psych lite in my humble shitty opinion.

A buncha great albums. Some I have OG pressings, some later pressings, some CDs and some not at all. The book Acid Archives is excellent for discovering US and Canadian bands. One of my favorite reference books. After watching this I pulled out my copy of The End. Jeez...it's selling for about 50 times what I would have paid for it. The psych market is out of control!

Love these genre-specific posts! I'm wondering, have you done one of the 70s/early 80s California (ideally SoCal) punk? Shit like Posh Boy, Nardcore, Flipside, Dangerhouse...bands? I'd love to see you dig your heels into a post about that given your deep knowledge! Cheers!

Hey man. I would love to get my hands on that Supernatural Fairytale lp by Art that you have on display behind you. Twink was also the drummer for The Pretty Things; I just picked up their Electric Banana Sessions, which is great. Is that Lollipop Shoppe behind you an original? July is probably my favorite all time psych album. I need to get Salvation, it's been eluding me for awhile. All those records you showed were top notch. Another crazy freak out album is Cromagnon, if you don't know it. Cottonwood Hill by Brainticket is another trip out that comes to mind. I'd have to scour my collection for others. Take care. Peace

I had a similar problem when I ordered GBH from England…. I’m from Australia….. it was warped badly, but I managed to slightly fix it ….. you guys in the states have awesome records but I’m too afraid to buy, just in case😢 Cheers Richie🍺

Try living in Australia and having to pay shipping to get a record here. I've pretty much stopped buying records because the shipping is outrageous, I'm extremely selective with what I buy now which is probably a good thing, if it's not 10 out of 10 it doesn't end up in my collection. Sunbeam sound machine is one kid making music in his bedroom

Would like to know your definition of psych rock.Watch all your videos and you seem to really enjoy punk and psych.I have a hard time categorizing late 60 s early 70,s rock music .Most seem to blend different styles together. So what exactly makes it psychadelic?

When you hear it it makes you feel like you're intoxicated, like time has been manipulated slowed down, a surreal feeling

That is a great question. Psychedelic music has a wide range of styles. It tends to be very atmospheric, surreal and spacey. Sitars, tablas and other exotic instruments are often used.
