If you weighed 50 kg and benched 100, you WERE a beast. You need to see the bodyweights of the absolute world record holders. They are usually almost 200 kg! If you're 180 kg and bench 300, you are far less impressive to me than if you're 75 kg and bench 150. Also, strength is just one component of a sportsman. You should also be fast and have sufficient endurance. And last but not least, sport should be about improving your body, not ruining it. So you should stay natural, no PEDs.

There was a lot eddie could have done if he went for it. He could have log pressed 600lbs in my opinion. The strength of the shoulders was there, but he couldn't go heavy in that comp because of a fractured foot which was preventing him from having total stability. It would be nice if someday he competed in strongman again
@branominal8564
@branominal8564 Жыл бұрын
@@jumbo9386 Eddie retired because his body was breaking under the stress he was putting it under, if he does come back to strongman, and I think he might, he won't be going up against the best or going for world records. He might go for another Britain's or something. I think Eddie in his prime could have got 235-240 on the log, and given how smooth his 216 was I think he was good for 220-225 on the axle, but by the time he went for the log he was already crippled. This just goes to show how great Z is, despite basically matching or exceeding Eddie on nearly every lift save the deadlift, Eddie was almost forced into retirement while Z's career has spanned decades and he is still competing at a world-class level at 47

After trying it out for several days/weeks I came to realize it is actually perfect for WHY I bought it.This is not a workout, the resistance is, eh, it makes a bit of noise, not loud, and it isn’t very stable even with the mat. The mat certainly keeps the bike from sliding but nothing keeps the mat from sliding (if that makes any sense, lol). Mine is place on my hard wood floor. Maybe it would be better with a rug underneath??I sit for long hours for work and wanted something to keep my legs moving. This bike does exactly that! For the price it is amazing, it is compact, easy to use, light weight, keeps track of time, calories etc (not sure how accurate it is) but good little product. I am happy with it.

Eddie's was a competition lift whereas thors was done in his garage. I believe it should be labeled as such, both impressive feats of strength, but there is a difference.

@@christophercooke480 Haftor had stricter rules and every officials you could ask for. What eddie did had nothing to do with competitions settings, he got to choose all the weight jumps and all the resting times (wich is why Brian shaw did not enter the event). Most strongmanr ecord sof recent years have been done in one off evrnt, instead of full comps, npthing wrong with that. Arnold record brealers series, wus feat of strength series and giant live do that all the time

@J C it was still in a competition environment and rules were set in place for the competition, what Thor did was in a non competition setting. I am not saying what he did was not incredible, but that the situation was not the same and in most cases is labeled as such as I think this one should be as well.

Pretty crazy that Thor did 501 easy, i saw it coming watching him work out to the lift...he did 400kg for reps like it was air. If you squat or deadlift anything over 400kg you are a beast.

@@Leon-fp3ci his dad weighed the plates on a weighing scale which was verified by Magnus Ver Magnusson, not like you'd know who that is. Are you implying that the weighing scales were rigged or could somehow bend to his father's will? The deadlift was also planned way ahead of time, originally supposed to be at a WUS competition but COVID made it so that never happened. WUS then started the Feats of Strengths Series to keep up entertained which included lifts such as Oleksii Novikov's 100kg dumbbell for reps and Tom Stoltman's 286kg atlas stone, all of which were outside of competition as well. The 501 also never happened at Thor's home gym, it happened at Thor's Power Gym which is quite a few miles away from where Thor lives and is open to the public, just as any other gym. Thor has a home gym which he used in preparation for the 501 and it looks completely different, not that you'd know since you clearly know nothing about Thor and just repeat whatever nonsense Eddie Hall says.

@branominal8564 Жыл бұрын
@@gabbeskillz6262 to add to this, the plates were weighed live on-screen (Eddie's weren't weighed at all), and Magnus was the guy who called one of Thor's reps on double-dipping on the viking press at 2017 World's, causing Thor to lose to Eddie by half a point. In case anyone was thinking there was Icelandic bias
