When I was at school, I had a math teacher that I suspect is an INTP. The thing is that he would constantly deviate of the principal topic of the class to explain some other interesting topics that were related in some way. This made this class fun for me (I am an INTP and it was stimulating) and you could see that teacher was having fun too, talking about different topics. You do not have to ask, it was my favourite class.

INFJ here and I was once a substitute teacher. I knew which one was the Infj straight away😅I learned that the hard way too. I had the students lovingly telling me that I had to "be more mean". I was like oh...even more firm then now? They laughed and told me to practice.🙈

I have an INFJ university professor and I’ve kind of sensed that he does this with everyone, so even though I know he won’t be harsh if I don’t get my work done on time, I still try to do so partly because I think deep down that’s what he’d prefer. Bless him

I think I had an ENTP professor. This is a spot on representation. His slides had not more than 10 sentences and were mostly just pictures. In all honesty, he seemed like he knew his stuff and explained fairly well in class. I really enjoyed how interactive he made the class. We later on came to an understanding of one other, but in the beginning I couldn’t stand him. He expected gourmet food with dollar store ingredients (metaphor for his slides vs tests), was ticked off quite easily, and insisted on calling a student with a part of her name she had told him not to (eventually he stopped, but it pissed me off greatly either way). I also realized that ENTPs either completely eliminate their emotions or throw their emotions everywhere. When they get emotional it’s a hard sight to bear. However, that side of him is what eventually led to our mutual understanding of one another. I am an ENFP after all, emotions are just my thing. I like to see a bit of human in someone. I don’t like people with glaring inconsistencies expecting perfection while they themselves are not that. It’s just too hypocritical.

I'm a university professor who is an INTJ. That's more...how I would like to be if it wouldn't scare students silent(er than they already are). In reality, getting students to talk at all is the main struggle.

On the first day of my junior year of high school, I walked into the wrong science class, but didn’t realize it until the teacher said her name and told us to turn to the person next to us and share a fun fact, so I turned to the girl next me and said, “I think I’m in the wrong class” and got up, went to the teacher and walked out. INFJ here. Honestly, I was really into studying, so I never understood why other people are not as fascinated with the readings as I am. When I led a study group, I was actually the person who asked people why they couldn't at least skim over it at the last minute, so we could have some meaningful conversation about it, instead of me breaking it down for them, because of course I read the whole of Kant and them some discussions on his topics and was the only one that grasped what he meant... INSUFFERABLE FOOLS! If you just want to learn everything by heart instead of understanding, and really are just here because your parents convinced you to attend University, just go and study law or commerce or something!

As an INTP who wants to eventually teach mathematics at a university, I'm worried about getting bored of my teaching material. I hope that by the time I try to get my Ph.D., my Fe's developed enough to keep my interest and focus on helping the kids understand as opposed to my current interest in learning the actual material. I suppose we'll see what happens...

As an INFJ professor, I never check whether my students do the readings. I assume that if they can get a good grade in my class without doing the readings, then the readings aren't necessary. *I* never did the readings, and I was just fine. I figure college students are old enough to be making their own mistakes that way--yet another reason I wouldn't want to teach younger students. If I want the students to get serious about the readings, I make it hurt during class (you can't do this in-class activity if you didn't read beforehand).

I am a University Professor in Math, I consider myself a INTP. But In this video I felt extremely identified with INFP (getting lost in the subject and not realizeing the time), INTP (of course), ENTP (trying to get debate) and ENFP (forgetting where was the class). I am also an ISTP admirer!.

... Infp teacher, knowing myself never stopping talking when I start enjoying a topic I can agree, yes, an infp teacher would be like that I guess... I never had one... I would have enjoyed myself having this lessons so much...

Idk about the type, but one of my professors was so lovely. She passed on useful knowledge efficiently, without beating around the bush (not that common trait), but was sensitive to the atmosphere in the class and somehow always managed to make it relaxed. When we had evening classes with her and she saw the focus was out the window she’d say “ok we’re losing them, time for revival”. And one time when we all had a particularly nasty one and everyone was stressing out about their thesis she said we can try and wrap up the material in 40 minutes and then she invited us to a nearby cafè and we just sipped coffee/hot chocolate and chatted. Amazing woman ❤️

Love the videos! I do think it would be more fun to show ENFPs really engaging with their students and getting way to excited about the material rather than being totally disorganized/unprepared! I am often late and lost, BUT when I am present/on-time I think I'm hilariously over-zealous and way too self-aware (speaking as an ENFP university instructor :D). Your impressions are INCREDIBLE though

Second, as an INTJ, that would be my inner monologue/fantasy that plays out in my head; but now that I'm older (and much, MUCH wiser) I would hope the other part of my brain filters it before it comes out of my mouth. I feel like I'd be a monster of a professor as I'd be a fusion of INTJ, ENTJ and ESTJ... maybe a little INTP in there because when I used to tutor I always encouraged questions as I wanted my students to grow. For once I don't really relate to the ENTP here.

I gotta say, while I understand where you get the INTP version you portrayed, I'm a strong INTP and I have always loved and been good at teaching, particularly abstract concepts. Keeping student attention, intuiting their level of understanding and shaping things to bring them to the right place... I've done this since I was a teen teaching nature merit badges to today teaching financial pro's. I think, while some of this is skill sets I've adopted over time, it's more inherent than that. Just another perspective..... it is draining, but very rewarding.... I still like being alone learning everything under the sun or just thinking. ;)

The transition from ESFJ to ENTJ was gold

My advice for students on how to deal with each MBTI Type as a professor: ENTP - It doesn't matter what course you signed up for. You're getting a philosophy class. ENFJ - Picks favorites. If they like you, you're getting a letter grade higher than you deserve every time. If they don't, it's a letter grade lower. You're entirely at the mercy of whatever box their aux-Ni puts you in - try to get on their good side early on. ESTP - Makes up lesson plans on the spot and then goes out partying with students - it's a wonder they haven't been fired, but even a university educated board of directors is no match for the charming drug that is tert Fe. You'll probably learn absolutely nothing, but you'll have fun. INTJ - Hardest class you'll ever have. Usually they did really well in school when THEY were students, so they'll have little sympathy for people who aren't academically inclined. The amount of homework they're going to assign will be impossible to complete half the time, but you can earn back some respect by being engaged during lectures. ENFP - Easiest class you'll ever have. Half the time they won't even remember the deadlines for the assignments either, so just show up, enjoy their rad creativity, and take your free credit. ESFJ - They often have this wonderful talent for dropping the veil of authority, and making it feel like you're just having things explained to you by a friend. Their #1 priority is keeping a respectful space, so just don't do/say anything socially inappropriate or too envelope-pushing and they'll be easygoing. ESFP - If they're teaching music/theater/art, then they're amazing, anything else and they will burn time talking about their weekend all class in order to avoid discussing material that they find even more boring than you do. The latter is pretty rare though. High Fi types are rarely caught teaching anything they aren't passionate about. ENTJ - By the end of the semester, they'll have made at least three students cry. They don't believe in holding your hand and want to prepare you for a real work environment. Meet their standards of resourcefulness and ambition or you're in for a rough time. INFP - The assignments they give will often have super vague and broad instructions, but as long as you authentically come at things with YOUR best interpretation, they don't really care about you hitting the criteria to a T. Depending on your learning style, this will either be extremely liberating or utterly infuriating. ISTP - Really successful in their chosen field (usually in trades), but less than ideal teachers most of the time. While Ti-Se is great at DOING, it's horrible at explaining the steps involved. They're just going to SHOW you and count on you to be a visual learner. ESTJ - They're sticklers for rules: any assignment that's overdue will get a zero. Anyone who turns up late to class will get turned away, ect - they seem scary, but really they're just hardworkers who despise laziness in others. Develop good time management and you're golden. INTP - Every class is just an hour of pedantic tangents - you're mileage may vary depending on how into that you are (personally, as an ENTP, I love it). ISFJ - They're usually really personable and will take extra steps to remember things about their students. Honestly, it's a shame you don't see them more at the university level, but high Si + Fe is usually more interested in nurturing rather than teaching, so they are more likely to go into younger education. ISTJ - Very dry in their explanations, but if you can stay awake, you'll actually learn a ton - the information will always be presented in a no-frills, straightforward way. No surprises, for better or worse. ISFP - These profs are usually creative types who fell into teaching to escape the financial instability of their original line of work. They often resent the fact that they have to teach instead of pursuing their dreams, but they'll make the best of a bad deal by doing really unorthodox things like arranging the seating in their class in a circle or something. Support their side gigs. They don't want to be there either. INFJ - They put a lot of thought and effort into their lesson plans - just show interest and ask thoughtful questions. INFJ's become teachers to make a difference. As long as they feel like they've reached you on some level, then they're happy.
