“Once upon a time, there was a man named Daniel. His wife was a cheating scumbag, and his daughter was narcissistic sociopath. He was assaulted by the courts; stabbed to death by his own daughter; and set on fire by her boyfriend. His family SUCKED. The end.” RIP Daniel, and I hope his other son & daughter live a better life ❤️ So tragic & unfair.

He chose to stay with his cheating wife. That's mistake #1, just saying. I do feel awful for him, but staying in a relationship *knowing* they cheat, is absolutely the worst choice to make. Even if you have kids, *it's over*

I think a wife can be put off when a husband decides to live on her income and won't get a job even though they moved explicitly for a job for him. A man who "will" not (not cannot) provide for his family will put a woman off. She won't feel they are equal. Couples are different, but this seems to be a couple who agreed he'd work and she'd work - at least initially.

Elizabeth is running for office in Nevada. Please never let that woman amass any power. This story was too much and reflects so poorly on her decisions as a parent. She is trying to say Daniel "molested" Sierra in her one statement, to save face because clearly, her image and not her kids health appear to not be a priority, but amassing power is. I pray for their children. I cannot imagine what they go through. What parent would want their children regularly on camera or to read criticism of their mother after they lost their sister and their father. You don't need a psych degree to understand how emotionally traumatizing that court case must have been for the remaining children.

you never know people beyond what they show you. and he could be an awesome friend or coworker, but an awful boyfriend/husband. @@magical571 I don't disagree with you - People usually or almost always have two sides - The side they reveal to you, and then the side they do not. When this all happened, I investigated everything I could get my hands on, from phone records provided to me by Dan's family, talked with people in his inner circle, reviewed the custody case and hearings that were public, on and on. I tried to make some sense of what had happened. In most custody disputes the child is put in a position to chose one parent over the other; Sierra most closely identified emotionally with her mother. Which is really weird because despite what the ex-wife/Sierra's mother said about Dan "keeping Sierra from her" there were very few calls from her to Sierra. Additionally, I uncovered this history of the ex-wife/Sierra's mom playing the victim card over and over. In fact, you can Google her name and find the info for yourself. I truly believe Sierra channeled this same energy to justify what she did to Dan.

I'll never forget a case I had when working at Juvenile Detention near the Mexican border. I had 25 young males in my caseload...then a sixteen-year-old girl arrived. She and her 25 year-old boyfriend were angry because her father refused to allow the boyfriend to move in. There were 4 younger daughters in the home besides his wife. This man was well liked in the community and worked frieght for a bus company. The couple somehow drove him to a bridge and shot him in cold blood. They were apprehended and arrested, charged with murder. The girl's first request upon arrival was to use the phone to call her mother. I was standing nearby and was appalled that she had the audacity to demand her mother get her out. She had no clue that she had robbed her mother of the man she lived and rook their father away from his daughters. She was selfish, Narcissistic, and oblivious to the consequences of her crime! Of all my clients/patients/students have I ever feel such a lack of pity. ..as well as with these two.

Damn. That's pretty hard core. I have a daughter that will be turning eighteen soon. She has these sorts of traits. I have pretty much given up on having a relationship with her. As an early teen she would hound me that I should kill myself. The mother made these sorts of comments as a lot of soldiers in my unit suicided. At one point she said she wished she had a gun so she could kill. In top of a lot of really demeaning and narcissistic behavior. Mom had Borderline Personality Disorder and I think my daughter also has it. It pains me, but I want both nutjobs far from me.

Really crappy how the father supported his wife’s dreams to the point of sacrificing his own just to be cheated on, called a liar, and have charges pressed against him. Then have his kids moved cross country which the court should have never allowed. I feel horrible for Daniel, he didn’t deserve any of this. I don’t mean to take away from the tragedy of his death but gosh he had it rough in his life too. Selfishness all around. Talk about being used and not valued whatsoever by your so called family. It looks like it happened all over again with Sierra, he sacrificed and fought for her and she was only using him until he was no longer useful and discarding him like trash. Daniel wasn't perfect but you can see he changed his lifestyle and was in a good place with his children. The daughter has no excuse- she could have just gone back to her mother and lived there BUT she chose not to and stayed with her dad. She could have waited until she turned 18 and her parents couldn't do anything. Sierra is a selfish brat and her accusing her dad of abuse is the opposite of what she did as she didn't want to go back to her mom and preferred her dad. I find it disgusting that she accused her dad of abuse and all vile things when he's no longer around to defend himself. I hope she suffers in prison for what she did to her own dad. Real strategies criminals have used when trying to get away with murder: 1. Make sure there is plenty of surveillance footage of you purchasing body disposal equipment. 2. It is vital to dispose of evidence on your property or in a location that you are known to frequent. 3. ALWAYS keep your cellphone with you so that your every move can be traced. 4. Be sure to think of an implausible alibi that will be proven false by cellphone data and surveillance footage. 5. Make multiple google searches like: "My full name is ____________ and I just murdered ___________."

22 years ago, in April 2001,a very similar case happened in Italy, my country. A 16 yo girl and her 17 yo boyfriend stabbed to death the girl's mother and little brother. Things like these rarely happen in our country and the case shocked us all so much that the media still talk about it to these days. They were sentenced to 16 years in prison, but they ended up serving only ten, in fact they are now both free to get on with their life. Yes, we usually have longer sentences than other countries. But our legal system is extremely flawed at times. There was a murder at a movie theater , where an old guy shot & killed a man, a husband & dad, for being on his phone during the movie previews. I read the court transcripts. The murdered guy did nothing to provoke the killer. The killer got off free, but if he’d been a black man & done the same crime he’d be in prison for 20 years. The killer was a retired cop, and white ppl (on the jury) like retired cops. This case is called the “popcorn murderer”.

I learned about this Case last Year. My Personal Thoughts are: 1. The Mother Actively Alienated the Father for Several Years: Parental Alienation. 2.Started during the Affair, continued in Counseling, Tiger allowed this Manipulation. There Seemed to also Be a Fixation with Money: Tiger High End Real Estate. This Youngest Daughter, Sierra, with prior observed Psychological Aspects, learned Manipulation Tactics that lead to the Murder. Not once in the News articles is the Parental Alienation mentioned, but from reading Information that Appeared to Be the Driving Force for Years, eventually leading to Murder committed by this Sierra. Of course the Mother would have him Falsely Arrested, and state that He was willfully Unemployed, Keeping Up with Child Support Payments of $2,300, while her Hubs and Herself Worked in High End Real Estate. Disgusting Parental Alienation Manipulation Resulting In Tragedy.

Not that surprising to me. The younger you are, the more self centered you are, which is normal. Being selfish as a young child makes sense, after all it is the responsibility of the adults around you to tend to your every need. Children lack the brain development to comprehend a world outside of themselves. It’s only when certain children don’t grow out of this behavior that it becomes an issue. A lot of things can cause it but mental illness of some kind is the most common verdict, especially if it went unchecked or untreated.

Why is EVERY person named Sierra just AWFUL? My niece, my sister's oldest daughter, is named Sierra and she is literally just the worst. Just terrible. I've yet to meet one person with that name that doesn't suck. Is that the new "Heather"?

I feel so bad for Daniel, he was such a good dad from what we've seen. He really did have Sierra's best interest at heart. He only forbid her to see her boyfriend bc the pair planned to rob their families and run off. Him and the other parents noticed that their kids don't have the best influence on each other so they did the right thing and tried to stop it. And he was trying to be understanding with Sierra and her feelings too. But I fear that these two young people were too far gone at that point. My heart goes out for Daniel's family and friends, especially for his mom and his other two kids who have not only lost their father but their sister too...and found out that their little sister was a horrible person.

All cases of murder disgust me, but the ones that disgust me the most are when children kill loving parents who have done nothing wrong towards them. There are so many kids and even adults that wish that they had loving, caring, and supportive parents. Not only do these murderers never appreciate what they have, but they betray their parents in the worst way possible. You really have to be the scum of the earth to be able to do that

How do you know the father “did nothing wrong”? Not all parents are decent. And I’m more disgusted with the parents that kill their innocent children.

@@heav2582 I'm talking about the cases where the parents actually were good parents, not the cases where they were abusive pieces of shit who terrorised their kids. I've run into so many true crime cases where there's proof of the parents being really supportive, forgiving, and caring yet they still get killed my their kids. And yeah parents killing their kids also disgusts me, a lot! But there's something about killing someone who has sacrificed so much to provide you a good life that gets a rise out of me. Not saying that it's worse than killing your kid - I think that they're both just as awful. Child killers also get my blood boiling

@@lauraanderson8785There can also be caring and good parents in the eyes of society but in the intimacy of their home they are not so. Some parents are good providers or even spend time with their children but at times they can still take advantage of their youth and rape them. We can't tell for sure this was not such a case. There is not sufficient evidence that this was not a case of abuse and the girl had a degree of resentment towards her father. Her boyfriend fueled that resentment to use her body as well. Her brain was not entirely matured to be able to process what has happened and then she may have been influenced to kill her father by that boyfriend who was a psychopath as well.

There's a difference between being angry with your parents and being physically and mentally abused by them. I'm not saying it's a excuse for murder I'm just saying most people don't wanna think about both sides. Child abuse is major problem. This case stinks of it that's just my opinion.

@@tommymack4372 Your statement has nothing to do with this girl or her crime. She was neither mentally nor physically abused. As Dr. Grande stated she was a narcissistic sociopath who manipulated her father and normally got away with it. Once Daniel found out about her boyfriend being older and other frightening factors of their relationship, he put an end to it. She was a selfish brat who did not like being told no, so she and her boyfriend murdered him. There was also no remorse from her about her father's murder. She is right where she needs to be.

@@tommymack4372 I'm sure if he would have abused her, she would have tried to use that as a defense as to why she murdered him or her lawyers would have tried and it would be public knowledge at this point. None of that has ever been said about Daniel and it's pretty crappy to assume that when you've heard no such thing about him. He was the victim, not her.

Horrifying. Not saying Daniel was a perfect guy, but this showcases how manipulated divorce courts and child custody laws are. If he was "willfully unemployed" how is he expected to pay 2300k/month. And if she was so concerned then why didnt she pay? I feel the mother manupulated Sierra wnd turned her against the father. Happens all the time unfortunately.

Daniel was treated appallingly by his ex wife, she cheated, made allegations of lewd behaviour for which he was charged and then subjected him to a dreadful custody battle, taking his kids far away whilst receiving over $2000 a month child support, he appears to have been a very loving father. Absolutely tragic.
