Because of track replacement works at the Collins St / Spencer St intersection from 1st to 9th July, Route 109 from Box Hill to Port Melbourne was worked in sections. The usual Kew Depot low-floor C1 class trams, unable to access the Light Rail, were replaced by a C2 class "Bumblebee" tram from Southbank Depot which ran the service from Stop 124, Batman Park, to Port Melbourne along with A class trams. C2 class trams are a rarity on any part of Route 109 and I assume it was rostered to provide a low-floor tram on this section.
