#164 How To Do It, measure flywheel stroke with a stick 4-5/8 stroker evo motor Harley Tatro Machine
how big is this cci rev-tech motor rebuilt engine? 88ci, 100" or 110ci.
engine size formula.
bore x bore x stroke x formula constant x number of cylinders.
3-13/16 x 3-13/16 x 4-5/8 x .7854 x 2 = motor size in cubic inches.
3.8125 x 3.8125 x 4.625 x .7854 x2 = 105.6ci or 106".
105.6 x 16.39 = cc, 1730.8cc

That would be an interesting tool to see, a bore measuring device without taking the head off. Must have some sort of pivoting point to go into the sparkplug hole, pivot, let some sort of spring release, then give a reading outside of the bore. Would like to see that measuring tool.

I recently got well a couple months ago picked up an 88 in stroker shovelhead at least that's what the seller said it is in delkron cases so I'm curious if it's actually what he said to...

I bought a junker Shovel several years ago. Seller told me it was a 98 incher. I was hoping it wasn't. Got it home and found Delkron D1002 standard bore cases. With the top end off, I measured the stroke at 4.635" and the bore at 3.457". Comes out to 86.82 cu. in. So I rounded it up to 88 cu. in. The pistons were .020 over S&S (TRW) stroker pistons. I have never split the cases so I don't know what flywheels are in there. I pulled the timing plug but didn't see anything that said S&S. I am guessing it's an old 88" S&S Sidewinder kit.

nope, the sidewinder was a 3-5/8" bigbore deal. you just have a normal put together motor. 3-1/2" x 4-5/8" = 86ci motor. the 88" motor has a 4-3/4" stroke. way faster but wears out quicker. tatro tatro

3.14 is the ratio of the diameter to the circumference Take the diameter of any circle, it will rap around the circle 3.14 times

Pi × r² = area of circle × height = volume You know the height but not the bore Transposition Fill with oil at bdc, tip out n measure volume of oil Volume ÷ height = circle area ÷ Pi = r² Square root r² n you get radius ×2 = bore diameter You just have to fill oil at tdc then tip out, measure n deduct from first volume

Aren't those revtech engines worse than all the others.. as far as you can only use their parts and I can't remember what else I was told but basically stay away from the junk things.. what happened to the ultima 113??

Yes, they are the poor man’s Harley engine I wouldn’t want in my bike. I’d rather buy an older Evo or twin cam I like me Milwaukee eight though.

I’ve run Rev Tech parts, Everything but crank in my 88 stroker Evo. I’ve tortured that engine to put it mildly. I have recently freshened it with new Jim’s gskts & thorough inspection. Still excellent & well within tolerances. Buttoned it up & ready for another season
