175 Mercury Pro XS Top Speed

This is how fast my Nitro Z18 can go with a Mercury Pro XS 175 four stroke.

.
NOTE: 3/4 tank of gas, empty live well, one person, not much tackle, compartments are lightly packed.

Got a 186 triton 2001 with a 150xr6. With me and the dog trimmed up letting her run into the wind my boat will touch 67 on my google maps

Do you still have the boat, and if so have you played with the prop, and what are you seeing with two people and full tournament load?

Whats happening man. Thanks for reaching out. Yes I still have the boat and I have not done anything different to the prop. It's the original one that came with the boat. I have the boat loaded (all compartments literally full) and can still run 63mph. I had two guys with me the other day and did not get on it but was cruising around 55mph. The boat ran with a slight tilt from the extra weight. But the more I got on it the boat seemed to level out just a hair. Thanks for watching 🙌🙌

I have a ranger r80 sport with a efi 150 mercury 2 stroke with a 23pitch prop that will hit top speed at 64. With a 7 inch jack plate. Crazy to think that a 150 and a 175 has pretty much the same top speed. Before people go saying well 2 different boats I’m which I understand. Just think it’s interesting that’s all

I've heard the Nitros are good about not chine walking. The Z18 is what I've been looking at for a while now.

I have the same setup on my boat but never hit over 62 mph on a calm water. I'll have to try pulling all the plugs out and see how she'll do. I would like to be able to do 65 mph with two people in the boat.

Try a 21 Tempest to get your motor into proper RPM range. You need to be bumping that 6,000 rpm to get the best out of your motor.

23P w no prop plugs. All prop holes are open.

The speed seems right but 5500 rpm seems low, it says up to 6000rpm on spec sheet. Have you played around with any other props?

I'm having to repower my 2018 z18 from 175 opti to the 4 stroke. I have a 24p 3 blade fury and a 4 blade 24p fury. I have a feeling I'm not going to get the rpm I need

@Mark Allison I've had my new engine for about 2 weeks now, hole shot is better mid range is way better and to end about the same about 65mph full load 22p fury
