In this video I wanted to do another my version of a more traditional bloom on a hexagon canvas with a specific requested color palette. I hope this video is helpful and inspiring for you and you enjoy watching this half as much as I enjoyed creating it!

PM to Paint measurement (ESTIMATE!):
1.5oz (45ml) PM to between 1/4 tsp (1.25ml) to a 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) paint to start. If too thin add a little more paint (or even a gel gloss), if too thick add a little more PM to thin more.

@@ThePaintedDreamer Prince the artist rock star had a huge room at Paisley Palace that was only lit with black light. Can you imagine your paintings all over the walls and ceiling of that room. I would not be surprised at all that if he were still living, he would want to commission your paintings for that room. And since we are in dream mode, if I had the money and the space, I'd commission a lot of your beautiful paintings for my black light room, full of Jodi originals. I'll just stay here for a while longer, looking at this painting, and dreaming. Very calming.

I still can’t get over this atelier interactive paint! The only other time I’ve seen bubble cells like this and not this intense is when I use my US floetrol CA with the Minwax recipe. Thanks so much girl! 💜💜💜

@@ThePaintedDreamer I've been getting a bunch of bubble cells too from that talens art creation acrylic paint I know it's made by royal talens and numbered the same as the Amsterdam paint but I'm getting amazing cells with it I've even been getting great cells with the master's touch brand from hobby lobby but you have to mix it like 6:1 to get the same cell reaction I get at 3-4:1 with the talens art creation acrylic paint oh quick question okay this is the first time I've ever bought the valspar ultra high gloss base c before and I mixed it at 3:1 with varathane ultimate gloss polyurethane but it's very thin like water thin do I need to open the lid and see if it will thicken up some or what I ended up adding the minwax 1 coat to it to thicken it up and that seems to work but it's very very thin did you change ratios when you switched to varathane polyurethane??

@@cwv-artistry Did you stir the Valspar Ultra up super good to incorporate everything? I show that consistency when I was first testing them out. It shouldn't be real thin but it shouldn't be real thick either, it's just right. I show what my PM looks like in my video 155 where I tested the regular varathane, the consistency. I also show the can of the Varathane I am using.

@@ThePaintedDreamer good I'm gonna check it out cuz yes I stirred and stirred and it's water thin maybe I just got a very thin paint this time, I've noticed that before I'd buy the exact same thing and it be a different consistency each time but I still love it, the minwax poly thickens it up so I'm using 3 part valspar 1/2 part varathane 1/2 part minwax and it's perfect but I'm gonna check out that video and see what yours looks like xx 🥰💖🎨🤗💞

you know what jodi, i gotta tell ya something, over this past year and a half ive become completely addicted to this art modality, ive got boxes of paints and of course tons of mess ups, in both my property in denver and my property in alaska, ive had to repaint our basement, kitchen and back patio from not being able to decide where the best place to set up is and of course getting it everywhere. and the crazy part about this whole thing is that ive NEVER had any desire, fascination, or any kind of paint EVER. Ive never really "understood" anything that had to do with paint! my kinda art is poetry! haha, but one day i tried doing this paint pouring kit with the kids and we did a horrible job, so i thought there must be a bettter way to do this, when i looked it up all it took was one thumbnail of one of your videos, ever since that day ive been completely hooked, seriously, like there is nothing that compares,, and you know what, i cant even find anyone one youtube that really compares, idk, just wanted to let you know how much you stand out and how much youve inspired me. :) thank you

I really love the new base Paint! My order was canceled from the contractor warehouse, their source was out! Gotta keep looking!

The more I use it the more I love it! I just hope it works well in summer for me too haha! It’s awesome in winter! I’ve heard that this is a newer paint for Home Depot so if yours is out they’ll be getting more. Also, I saw online that PPG stores carry it too so maybe if you have one around you could try there. I’m not sure if this price would be as cheap though. 💜

Hi Jodie1! Funny because you answered my question on how to get more cells than lacing. I'll dry putting a double cell activator over my white. My Flo is thin so I've been going 1 to 1! Been thinking about even adding some matt gel to see if that would help hold the cells together. Or glue all? Been experimenting (like you) to find what works. Liked your little scoop and stretch you did here! Beautiful as usual and thanks for sharing. BTW valspar straight it what I've been using. Jodie2

Hi Jodie2 😃 definitely using more than one cell activator especially over white helps with more of the bubble cells I’m finding and keeping it a little thicker too. You’ve been using the Valspar straight up without the varnish? How do you like it I’ve never tried it without varnish 😃

Excellent. A request; could you show the flow test for your pillow, paint and c/a. They look thicker then what I am using. Thanks for all your effort.

@@ThePaintedDreamer Sorry. I was on Facebook and I thought that was the term they used. It is placing a dab of paint on a piece of cardboard, tipping it up and watching how fast the paint flows down. In watching your videos I was thinking that your pillow, paint and ca were much thicker than mine. I thought if you had time to demonstrate the flow of these might be helpful to some of your subscribers, like me. Thanks again for all your effort in composing these videos. Dlee

@@ThePaintedDreamer take time for it to heal baby. I’ve had 2 back, 3 neck surgeries. Now I’m inoperable.When my Pom hit my lower back 6 weeks ago, I still have to watch it. Your young, let it heal. Have the boys do their laundry , make dinner and Lee do dishes or vacuum, BUT DO NOT END UP LIKE ME. My personality fucking rocks, 🤪, but my body is saggin. Take care, 20 minutes warm, 20 cold. Your Iowan bat in the hat. I care about y’all. Fist bump……… 💕🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊💕 Kimmer. 🛁

Great video I went to your amazon link to buy those paint cups - the ones in the shop were Sprout cups. Where did you get those cups with the attached lids ?? I'd like to try those. Thanks !

Thanks Donna 🤗 the round lidded cups are also in my Amazon storefront. The only ones that aren’t are the square lidded ones, those came from The Fluid Art Company 💜

Could be your execution or your consistency, try thinning a little more if you want but moreover it’s also practicing how you are blowing it out and how the cell activator skims across the other colors to sink down 😊

It just depends on the piece whether I’ll resin or varnish it. This one I’ll probably resin once it’s cured. 😊

Haha! Sorry about that Patty let me explain 😊. When I call a cell a leopard cell it’s because they remind of sort of a “leopard print”, let me know if you see it next time I call that out 🤗💜🤗

I cannot believe I missed this video previously. 😒 I watch ALL your videos as soon as they are uploaded. But I must have missed this (in the middle of our little Covid drama! ) But I just went back to watch another of your videos again (as I do often, as once is never enough!!) I love your “full on bloom” but then I’m biased. I love all your paintings!! I also love your reasoning for colour choice too: “just because!” Good enough reason for me😂. It’s great you’re going bigger and bigger with your canvases but man you must be reaching the max of your lung capacity soon. Watch you don’t pass out! And be careful you may have to start the dreaded cardio training to get enough air if you go too big with your substrates. 🚴♀️🚣♂️🏃♀️ I’d rather do ANYTHING else in the world than cardio. But you do have to make some sacrifices for your art I guess🤣😂. Love hexagons that’s a given, but you just make magic happen. Love it, hugs as always D

Aww no worries, I hope everyone is feeling well now! Haha! I had a bunch of errands to run today so that counts as my cardio as I’m like a speed demon when I shop 😂. If I go any bigger with my blooms I may try the dryer again, I just like the control I get with my breath though, haha! Can you imagine me blowing out a 2 foot bloom 😂. I’m glad you enjoyed this one my friend, thank you!! 💜💜💜
