One of the bravest diving headers you'll ever see from Mike Lyons under the swinging left foot of Norman Hunter. RIP, bites yer legs.

3:11 You gotta love Motson's comment 'Good effort!'. Only 20 yards off target, LOL.

John Connoly . Everton signed him from St.Johnstone. What a player.

Football being played the way it was meant to be played! I no longer live in the UK,but i think if there was a channel that devoted all of it's time(pretty much 12 to 14 hrs an day)+repeats of football from the 60's,70's,80's and early to mid 90's of all world football then they would clean up. How can todays contrived,packaged f##king expensive BS compare. .This has to be unanimous?

Couldnt agree more...i stopped going to watch everton in 1987 after they won the league..the price was put up to 11 or 12 quid...and i couldnt afford it...so just stopped going...i dont even watch it now...when its all about the 'champions' league..thats the end

Remember being at this game, thought after beating Leeds we would have a good season.

We did, if only Carlisle hadn't beaten us home and away in their only season in the top flight we might have been champions.

leeds were a goalkeeper short of the greatest ever side why they never signed gordon banks or peter shilton is beyond me had they have done that im sure they would have won even more trophies

selby16 Actually we have had some great keepers . David Harvey ( cocking up in this game ) played for Scotland as did David Stewart . David Seaman ,Nigel Martin and Paul Robinson all played for England . John Lukic is the only keeper to win the title for two different Clubs having played every game in both seasons ( Arsenal in 89 and Leeds in 92)
@selby164 жыл бұрын
@@simapark I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAID BUT I WAS REFERRING TO THE DON REVIE ERA, WITH ALL DUE RESPECT TO DAVID HARVEY HE WAS NOT AS GOOD AS GORDON BANKS OR PETER SHILTON THEY BOTH WOULD HAVE WALKED TO ELLAND ROAD AT THAT TIME TO PLAY FOR DON REVIE . ALL IM SAYING WAS IF THEY HAD SIGNED BANKS OR SHILTON, I THINK THEY WOULD HAVE WON MORE TROPHIES , AS IT IS FOR ME THEY ARE THE GREATEST SIDE EVER . BUT WITH BANKS OR SHILTON IN GOAL NO ONE ELSE COULD HAVE HAD AN ARGUMENT AGAINST THAT , AND THATS MY OPINION .

I hid in the toilet & stayed till after the ground emptied. Climbed out onto the hallowed turf, kissed both goals & stood in wonder on the centre circle. Thirteen years old ...

Terrible error by Harvey for the opener, but no comments on the elbow in his face? Even in those days that goal should have been disallowed.
@jerryoshea31164 жыл бұрын
Yes.That was def a foul.But players were given.far more latitude in those days,so I think it balanced itself out..And GK were some of the biggest offenders at clearing their penalty area..
@Gwladys18782 жыл бұрын
Cigarette adverts behind the goals were covered in black plastic as they were not allowed to advertise on tv. As the game progressed the boys behind the goal ripped the plastic piece by piece until the advert was on full view.

Not one of David Harvey's better days; the whole Leeds defence in fact. David Harvey once served me in a pub that he ran in Stamford Bridge near York, in the late 1980s. No, he did not drop the pints!

they were all reaching the end of their carears its well documented that revie couldnt break up the the team and let them go they were his creation ,the greatest team in britain a year before ,such a shame he preferred to manage that shower of shite England rather than try win the european cup with what he had
