I really enjoy watching all of the experienced knappers knapping I'm 61 and growing up it was emplyed that stone age people were dumb cave people making stuff out of stone because it was to hard to make metal stuff but the truth is stone age technology isn't as easy as it seems in fact people were a lot smarter than we give them credit for because in fact they were and are geniuses figuring out how to create these masterpieces from stone and figuring out the kinds of stone that would work and also coming up with the tools to work the stone with I'm truly amazed by how you continue to improve on this technology thanks for sharing

In auto body we have punches and chisels called spring punches. Basically the same thing you have there but more compact. A couple companies make them but one started it. Thanks for the video. I have a chunk of Basalt.. I say iit is anyway. Wasn't sure until I saw your video yesterday of you knapping Basalt.. The chunck I have was an Artifact. Very crude and gaudy. So I decided to take a flake. It was ok. Then I threw it in with a batch of heat treat and it turned put great.. So my point is, it takes heat. And it improves.. You should try it..!
