Nice looking tripod. Wish I could order it domestically. Ali Express is a pain to deal with and the shipping is so slow.

Thanks for the video! I've been eyeing one of these for a while but one of the Amazon reviews said the legs would only lock when the sections were fully extended -- incorrectly, it seems. I've ordered one to try out.

Np~ the legs would lock at any length. After 2 months of using it daily, I would say the easier way to lock it is to twist the bottom rubber feet, which would lock up any extended section.

@@kenccz6074 Have you had any trouble with dirt or debris getting on the legs or into the locking mechanism? I'm concerned that may cause trouble using the tripod outdoors.

@@drewbaker4175 No I haven't, but I been using it indoors mainly. I would say the built in ballhead probably needs lubrication/maintenance first before the legs..

@@kenccz6074 Thanks, I'll keep that in mind as I try mine out. (A lot of outdoor painting equipment uses a tripod as a base, and that's what I intend to mainly use this this for. The concerns, needs, and preferences can be slightly different -- though I suppose they are from one photographer to the next as well.)

The twist and lock, It's the same sytem as on my Velbon ULTRA 655 A. At first we think that this plastic system will not last. But finally, more than 6 years later, it's still just as effective. (1click=1 part of leg). This tripod attracts me a lot for its weight but is it really better than a Manfrotto Befree that I already own? I hesitate.

True, the Velbon one seems to have one rubber ring around one of the section where as this one has non. But yes, 1 click= 1 section, got used to it now. Well, if you are in for another tripod, I would say you wouldn't be disappointed, I definitely prefer this ballhead when it comes to speed, it is quicker to operate than my rrs ballhead

Good review, thank you - it was just what I was looking for. I found this on Aliexpress and it it looked good, and after watching your review . They have upgraded the twist to lock mechanism in this generation - see their comment below. I tried the PD, which is great, but this is lighter, massively cheaper, just as small, but much faster to deploy. I had a twist to lock on my old monopod, and once you get used to it, they are really great. The locking mechanism normally dont need much twist to lock, so it's easy to adjust a leg if needed. Here's the manufacture's comment "After learning the lessons of the A15i, we spent three years experimenting with eight sets of molds. After hundreds of mold repairs, we finally made the leg locking force three times higher than that of the A15i, the vertical resistance reached 15kg, and passed the bumps and vibrations. Testing and durability testing."

Hi, thanks for the insight. Yes, it is twist to lock now. Since the unboxing, I have used this extensively for the past month. The twist and lock is actually really easy to get use to even with out the rubber ring like the ones found on gitzos, the only concern is probably the longevity after extensive use and years of twisting and unlocking..So far I have zero issues when the legs are extended, it is really stable. I did had an issue where it was at the lowest position, and one leg was on a slight bump on the floor, which caused it to tip over...well, that was my problem more or less, cant beat physics after all XD overall, I stick with the claim that this is a steal
