@@ianmitchell5979 the grinding wasn't there explicitly to sell xp boosts (long story short it was there to force players to engage with side content to prove that it was a "real RPG" like the Witcher 3 since side stuff was one of the big complaints around origins, the xp boosts were opportunistic as proven by valhalla keeping them despite the fact that they're completely useless now), but yeah. Isn't quite the same since it isn't multi player, but it's a bit tone deaf.

Ubisoft:Making fun of EA for microtransaction. Also Ubi:Puts microtransactions in the same game. PS. Just because Ubi micro transactions are less bad dosn't mean it's good and this isn't ironic. Micros in paid games are bad and it doesn't matter how they are implemented because it's presence forces devs to make game worse to make it's purchase justifiable. If there is element of game that people are willing to pay to skip them it's bad part of the game and should be either re designed, removed or at least have option to skip without paying. By defending such practices we just allow big corporations to make worse games just so they can make more money off us.

@@mihaimercenarul7467 no it absolutely is not. When you can pay to essentially ruin someone else's experience that is way worse than being able to level up faster (which you can also do by playing on easy on this case). Odyssey's grind is only bad because the game is boring anyway

@@mihaimercenarul7467 I disagree. Paying to be stronger than somebody else is unfair to your enemy. Incentivising them to pay too. So they can win. Paying in sp ( odyssey in this case ) is not gonna ruin anybody’s experience. Also grinding in odyseyy was easy as hell literaly all you had to do was recruit 4 bounty hunters to your ship luitenants. Raid a few of those tomb destroyed structure things so you can get the stones to upgrade ur ship. And then sink every ship in the seven seas for a lot of loot you can sell

They are both microtransactions but on EA's side it is pay-to-win because it is in multiplayer, as what the NPC dialogue said. Ubisoft's microtransaction is on SP games, so it can't be considered as pay-to-win, you aren't getting any advantage over other players because what you are playing is just a single player game.

That max payne easter egg was part of a whole different era of gaming…. Back when gaming was about the players having fun and the devs making groundbreaking games that would be remembered for decades but now everything just feels unoriginal or uninspired☹️ i cant wait for the gaming world to get back on its feet instead of being on its head

2:22 Kind of wonder if this is the closest thing to making fun of microtransactions Ubisoft would allow in that game. Assassin's Creed Odyssey was filled with microtransactions the only big difference is it wasn't actually gambling like Battlefront II had.

it was around for just over a week and then was removed. The whole thing was resolved a full year before Odyssey came out. I really don't think this is a jab at just Battlefront II in particular, or even just EA. For instance, GTA 5 allows you to buy in-game currency to then buy all the best gear and bases, in a multiplayer server

About the quake 2 easter egg. Apparently in the book Masters of Doom that talk about john romero and john carmack, it sais that the id gallery wich is the room with all the pictures mean something from the perspective of one of the developers, john carmack hiding into the ground whenever someone approached and just shutting himself coding in his office, some artists and devs also leaving the project because some of them felt that the company was just doing the same game over and over again. This info i took it from the channel Civvie11 from his quake 2 video. But the easter egg just gets darker the more context you have on it.

0:20 - I think the guy "pregnant with himself" is a reference to "Kuato", a character in 1990's Total Recall, in which a radical mutant leader is hiding inside another person, possibly the result of a conjoined or parasitic twin developing their own identity. When called, it emerged from the other character's abdomen.

In Postal 2. (Steam release of 2012) RWS dev team hated Postal 3 so much they put a hidden copy of it in Postal 2 just so you can piss on it. And yes. They did this for the DLC sequel. Postal 2: Paradise Lost.

Max Payne 2 - When you're climbing the scaffolding to get to the upper room while dodging grenades (vague description I know - but you'll know it when you're there) , if you go past the window you're supposed to enter and move along the ledge around the corner you'll find an open window with a shrine commemorating one of the devs that had died (IRL). An in-game memorial for one of the team. Sad yet touching.

I remember at the time of the Logan Paul suicide forest controversy, in Kingdom Come: Deliverance you could randomly find a dead body hanging in the forest. Honestly, that game has a ton of Easter eggs. I don't even know most of them. I do remember in the pre-release demo version of the game they had a small playable area of the map. The boundaries were marked out by a metal construction fence with caution tape on it. lol

Once, I was an extra on a film shoot and my Co Actor and I decided to have a random conversation so it didn't look like we were trying to have a conversation by just flapping our lips and making gestures. I hope them two views he got from me was worth it. It costed him a high quality fan and it ruined his reputation, plus it created bad feedback. I would never tell anybody about this channel. Ark Survival Evolved often has ode's to the map devs or youtubers who helped. Fjordur map has the biggest shrine in the gold mountain to them. Kinda comforting to see it and also creepy because if the game keeps going years from now no one will know who they were.

To everyone feeling sorry for the guy whose girlfriend supposedly cheated on him with his own half brother, take it with a pinch of salt; her side of the story is that she's only good friends with the brother and has never been in a relationship further than that with him. I actually think that the people working in Ubisoft were actually taking a jab at their own company rather than EA, especially at that time, a lot of shady stuff was going on at Ubi around that time.

If you go in AC Odyssey at Elysium there is village called Stroma (in the Pheraia's Retreat area) if you fly with the Eagle you can see that the Grass/flower is in the shape of Ubisoft logo.
