We generally don't until we can't lift more or do more pull ups or climb higher because our grip gives out. But it is important to work...And so many moves you can do to work grip are also great full-body exercises! Enjoy!

Honestly there are so many good grip moves out there...I chose most of these to keep as many as possible compound exercises with a few that I just love that are more isolated. Not as much of a fan of the rolls unless they are needed for injury rehab or prevention. :-) And thank you!

I'm very late to this, but you can make one very easily. If you ask any bakery, even one in your grocery store, for an icing bucket, they usually will give you a free 5 gallon bucket. Ideally you want one with a lid. Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get a $7 bag of sand. They also sell lids if your bucket didn't come with one. Buckets are about $3 at Home Depot, so you could even do this in one stop.

No idea. Don't really care to get it measured. For me strength is all about doing whatever I want to do so as long as I keep my grip strong for that, actual strength in pounds doesn't matter to me :-)

Where grip strength is concerned, is it a good idea to keep using lifting straps while doing dead lifts? I find when I use the straps, my performance improves considerably. But I have been told to not use the straps doing the lifts because it stalls the development of my grip strength. Thoughts...
@redefiningstrengthOC
@redefiningstrengthOC 4 жыл бұрын
Straps help you lift more by being a grip assist. So if your goal is a max deadlift sure use them. But if you want to work on grip strength, I'd include moves specifically for that on the side as the straps won't force your grip to necessarily improve.

@redefiningstrengthOC

I would recommend you select a weight that challenges you for the time or distance you set. Start shorter and choose a weight you want to put down just before time is up and build from there.
