Common man, why didn’t you diagnose the noise? U you on can’t just send it away saying nothing is wrong.

D40 engins are designed to be lemons,,,, changed mine out for a 4 cylinder Cummings.

Hi ...Have you checked the OVER RUNNING CLUTCH PULLEY on alternator ? Mine slips intermittently & sounds like dry bearing. Then if you shut engine down & re start it goes away..It then comes back a few days later if vehicle is idling for a few minutes.

My 2014 d22 yd25 has a loud ticking noise it did have faulty injectors when I brought the car but I've replaced them with all new ones and I've change the oil ,its only got 93,000 km could it be the lifters ?

What’s behind the dash that could make this noise ? Could it be a cam bearing ? This noise is now 3 years old for me ! Two sets of belts , new pulleys, new alternator! Would have changed harmonic balancer but unable to get the trucking nut free ! My god ! My ocd is off chops !!!!!!!

Cheers for vid I had the same issue, it was the alternator bearings it would only make the noise when wet or on start up once replaced it was great belts had been changed previously 2014 d40 with 260km

Thanks buddy we thought the same so going back to the motor tomorrow the customer only wanted to see if it was a problem with the engine ie timing chain obviously all good 😌

@@westyorkshireengineservice9160 Just had the same thing on mine, all the belts and pulleys were done about 6 months back, so I was thinking that “oh so annoying thing for mechanics” when you do what’s right and replace jockey pulleys or any part that looks good , BUT , all you do is fit a new part that unfortunately fails in a short time. Guess who pays for that ? But , yep , it was the alternator bearing. I noticed the squeak seemed to be there more often immediately after start up, then went away, so I put all the lights on without the motor running for about 10 minutes to drain the battery down , then started it up, the squeak was there every time. No I can’t give any real reason other than the alternator was loaded up more trying to recharge the battery, anyway that alternator was the problem. Thanks for a great channel too, it saves a lot of learning and worrying at times.

Hey Des, Patrick here from South Africa. I have a 2011 Navara, yd25, VSK, Spain release. Engine down. Somebody is selling a 2006 Navara, yd25, VSK, Thai........ Can I fit the Thai yd25 engine on the Spain Navara?

Ciao io o un nissan navara d40 automatic o molti problemi tipo consumi ecesivi enelle cambiate di marce non cambia bene avolte cambia avolte si sente gridare il motore o cambiato pure l'olio e filtro cambio ora c'è un errore u 1000 mi viene da impazzire c'è qualcuno che a lo stesso problema

They seem to have a fuel problem think people don’t know they have a second fuel filter Also parts are expensive

Sorry but this was a terrible video, issue not resolved meaning the vehicle was not fit to send back. Until you diagnose the root cause you can't say it's fine
