A 139QMB carb for a 49cc gy6 really wakes up that little motor. i upped the jet to a #80 and it has so much power the clutch slips even at high speeds. the bfg upgraded clutch solved that problem and I can go up hills with no trouble. my motor is on a schwinn scooter so there is no pedal assist. I cut the muffler off the pipe and welded on a briggs 8hp sausage mufffer and that made even more power.

I had a similar bike engine kit, was a 49cc 4 stroke with 4g belt transmission totally silent. I rode for 3 years to & from work every day was awesome. Throughout that time I added a sick bike parts jack shaft & eliminated the spoke sprocket which gave me 7 gears. Also added lights mirror front shocks leather seat. The primary reduction drive is chain and is a 3-1 and is for the Pit and Pocket bikes on small wheels. Ideal is a 6-1 reduction like the T-belt ones. If you can fit a 56t rear sprocket, this should bring the ratio close to where it should be and ease the clutch and pedaling on hills. I have a 39cc OHV 4st engine outboard LHS by the rear wheel. it is a geared reduction of 6-1 and till have a 48t sprocket due to the engine size.

Finally, got a good one. The advantage of the ebike. I don't worry about the cops as the thing is silent. The negative. I'm 225lbs and get about 15 miles just using throttle. You should be able to start from rest by just twisting the throttle without pedaling. Also it should be able to handle hills without pedaling as well. I can see what you are missing is the choke switch, which is the white plastic that you didn't touch at all, and is left at the closed position all the while, that's why you're not getting enough power. You are supposed to close it when cold-starting the engine, and then open when it's already running, where the bike can be operated like a regular scooter. With the choke operational and you still have the same issues, then your centrifugal clutch is faulty.

Might be a little labor intensive but I was thinking of creating a custom faring to cover the motor by cutting up a plastic barrel or something similar. Possibly a used faring from a motorcycle salvage yard could be easier.

What's the purpose of changing the front sprocket? And is it possible to leave your old sprockets on, disengage the clutch, and ride it like a normal bike if you run out of gas?

Install a bigger rear sprocket to lower top speed. It will make the auto clutch functional and climb hills . Mine does 24mph. Drill and pop rivet tank brackets to frame. Same with chain tensioner.

I think you have that backwards. a smaller rear sprocket would lower your speed but increase torque applied to the wheel.

Great videos bro! I live at the shore but my sister lives in Hamilton. I definitely plan on riding there next time I’m out that way! I also plan on riding like you…not pissing people off on the trails, switching from the trail to road, etc. Have you had any trouble with the police or Rangers since this video?

How do you change the oil in one of these? Do you just suck it out through the fill hole with the syringe? I've seen some models having a drain plug underneath the fill or near the clutch, mine hasn't got either.

Bicycles and motorcycles have top speed roughly 31mph times the cube root of the horsepower, provided the gearing is such that top speed is at the RPM corresponding to peak hp. 1.4kW = 1.88hp and the cube root is 1.23. 31x1.23=38mph, so that works out.

I’m looking into buying one of these, I’m a welder fabricator so I’m not going to have any problems building the framework for it, but could a guy mount this above the rear tire as opposed to underneath the seat? I know the weight distribution will be weird, but other than that any foreseeable issues?
