well i guess i ll leave this in case anyone wonders what happened there: in generation 1 there is something called the 1 in 256 glitch, where every move with a 100 % accurancy has a 1 in 256 chance to miss (due to a small oversight in coding i presume). furthermore, the move rage has some interesting interaction with the 1 in 256 glitch: "If Rage misses during the turn it is selected, its secondary effects will not activate. If Rage misses due to the 99.6% accuracy bug of 100%-accuracy moves when there are no other accuracy or evasion modifiers in effect, or in case said modifiers cancel each other, its accuracy will be unaffected. However, if Rage misses due to an accuracy or evasion check when its decision-removing effect is active, the accuracy of Rage will subsequently become 0.4%. The duration of Rage will be paused but not disrupted by anything, including sleep, freeze, partial trapping, flinching, or if the user hurts itself due to confusion. " source: bulbapedia so tl dr, if rages misses on turn 1, its accurancy does become 0.4 % (or 1 in 256) for all following turns, and once rage is selected, you cannot pick any other move. so ye, this is how the pidgey dodged all the moves. also i guess pidgey didn t technically beat tauros yet, since tauros still had a 1 in 256 chance to hit and k.o it.

A lot could be done to speed this up honestly. Turning off battle animations, turning on "set" switching, having the emulators play at a faster speed. Or just plugging the teams and AI into python and simulating the battles

​@@SinisterPixel Considering the oddities of RNG on Nintendo systems in general (RNG manipulation is actually feasible in real speedruns for example) a python simulation vs the real thing could return very different results.

None of Lance's Pokemon other than Gyarados can beat members of the Gastly line. His two Dragonairs and his Dragonite won't use attacks since they have a Psychic Type Status move, and his Aerodactyl only knows Normal Type moves.
