Beautiful restoration and I am so glad you kept the original wooden handle. I have noticed that you repair rather than replace as much as possible which to me is proper restoration. That was a huge job and it turned out so well. What an ingenious design the way those brass jaws are shaped to squeeze the corks. Just awesome. Love and cuddles to Avril from Australia. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺

We don’t have much call for these machines in Lancashire, though we are a county better known for rain than sunshine. I've just come home from a very stressful day at work. I came to bed as soon as I got home to use my nebuliser as I’ve been struggling breathing for much of the day. Got my iPad out and saw you’d uploaded and of course I had to watch your new video before anything else. I’m instantly relaxed and at peace with the world, watching you both (?) work is a pure joy and so relaxing. Your videos are always wonderfully laid back but with great craftsmanship. It’s beautiful video restoring what turned out to be a beautiful machine, very well done indeed.

I really admire your technique and care for the machines you are restoring. You use every possible original part and make the machine function the way it was originally designed to work. So many of the "restorations" on KZfaq are either re-purposing or simply cosmetic in nature. You do a first rate job.

Not just to push a cork into a bottle, to push many corks onto many bottles, all day, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year. 80 years later it is still in good shape. Take a corking machine made in 2019, wait 80 years and see how easy it is to restore with all the plastics and electronics.

Good job!

The fact that you decided to fix that cracked wooden handle, and all those details like for example the wood that u used for this machine's bse was also aged, that you decided to leave those cast iron marcs untouched. I love your respect to origin of things you're restoring. Because most of people who does such restorations tries to do everything to make things look like if they were brand new.
