Thank you for showing us your cycle and the history behind it.There is nothing more beautiful (except Jessica Alba) than a antique European Motorcycle. They represent the true style of early motorcycling. One of the most gorgeous cycles on the planet are the Zundapp civilian cycles from the 30's...wow!

My dad and his mate ‘Vic’ used a captured Zundapp 750 outfit in North Africa in WW2 for personal transport, until they hit a bomb crater on the desert road between Cairo and Alex and wrote it off , he said it was great off-road with the sidecar wheel locked 👌🏻😎

Impressive! I'm not joining-in, re: the sidecar. As the war went on, I suspect they put a lot of Wehrmacht ride back together with what they had left. You've still restored perhaps THE finest sidecar-motorcycle built during WW2. And you ...processed a machinegun in one of the most fanatically hoplophobic states in the U.S.A. without it ending up cut to pieces & "cast into yon fiery furnace." I'm doubly impressed. Best regards.

Well done for preserving an historical piece.

My highest compliments to you, what a extensive restoration you completed on a little understood weapon system. You need no education on these as your rebuild process took you down that road. Other viewers may not know the German army operated these in battalion strength and as such would strike swiftly and deeply into the Soviet rear areas causing major disruptions, swaying the outcome of many important engagements. A German motorcycle unit claims to have penetrated to within 10 miles of the Kremlin, the closest of any German unit. Some motorcycle units would dart right past confused Soviet forces without receiving and fire from them. It is a remarkable mission you to have accomplished by finely preserving a little understood yet valuable military asset. Way jealous of you, your restoration is worthy of any museums war displays, superb job!

My grandfather was captured by the Soviets while was on horse back scouting locations to position his artillery unit. He said he could see the onion tops of Moscow though his field glasses. Didn't get out of the labor camp system till 49.
@BADMONTESS3 жыл бұрын
@@ronshulman9840 Wow that is an awesome story to have a grandfather who made it that close to see the Onion Tops of Moscow proper. The Soviets were throwing everything they had at stopping the German advances. If you were in the wrong place at the right time you were conscripted into any job with shortages, usually rifleman, go figure. So you grandfather was fortunate to get himself captured, probably saved his life from the lethality of the numerous engagements between Soviet and German units. Those camps were quite brutal and barbarous in nature. Let him call it what was, it good place to plan attack on the Soviet rear echelon troops. Buy they were kept under control/ Heck of a guy like to buy him a great large stein of his favorite brew,

Many thanks for this video as I'm building a BMW R75 motorcycle w/sidecar.....in 1/35th scale for a zombie diorama. Have a couple of the Zundapp bikes also in 1/35th scale and going to use them in some zombie dioramas. What I really like was showing close ups of your bike. Didn't know the side car had storage capability under the spare tire. Sad part is I learned this AFTER gluing the 2 parts of the kits sidecar together and now have split them apart so I can put in the compartment. Thanks again.
