1950 John Deere MT Pickup and Drive Around 4K HDR

Over the weekend I acquired a 1950 John Deere MT single-front. I had two parts MT machines, so I thought this would be a fun one to add to the collection.
In this video we load it up with the Ford F-350, haul it home, and run it for the first time.
The MT was the row-crop version of the John Deere M. The M is unique as it was a two-cylinder vertical engine with a foot clutch. The M also replaced both the models H and LA. The H was the smallest of the horizontal two-cylinder machines.

Another one back to life! I love that. Glad to hear the issue was clutch related and not a seized engine. Great job, and thanks for sharing!

Looks like a solid tractor to fix up. I have a farmall super a that makes a similar noise under load. It also had water in the transmission. I think it’s a bad bearing.

Kyle, congrats. on the MT. engine sounds good but that transmission may come apart on you. Best of luck....

Kyle - napa sells a 12v that is slightly smaller than a 6V battery and works well. I use them in a old army jeep that was coverted with limited space.

26r battery works perfect. Have one on mine and converting to an alternator.

Did it makes that same noise in all gears?

I have not used it a whole lot, but it seems the same in all gears. It seems worse under a load as well.

@@KyleWeber It could just be the input shaft bearing Kyle, you may just have to split the motor from the transmission and possibly just change that bearing right there. Good luck 👍
