Wish Max Factor products would bring back that vintage look, their products now look like a replica of Loreal & Milani, they don't stand out. They deserve recognition

When I was around 18 years old I worked in the Revlon factory in New Jersey, USA. I worked in the lipsticks line putting the sealer protectors on the lipsticks! This was late 70's when "Charlie" was all the rage! The most fun part of that monotonous job was getting to go to the discounted store after my shift! Fun days! I wore "Charlie" back then but now I wear "CHARLIE WHITE" . THAT IS WHEN I GET IN MY REVLON STATE OF MIND!!

Hi, do you Know the confirmed year for “pink in the afternoon” by revlon? Since it isn’t confirmed anywhere yet.. there are many rumours with it being compared to the lipstick shade worn by Audrey Hepburn in breakfast at Tiffany’s!

My mother was a teenager in the 1950s and I remember her wearing a lot of Revlon products. I love their liquid foundation and have been wearing it for at least 20 years. I will scream blue murder if they ever discontinue it because it’s brilliant.

I’m still upset that Covergirl bought out Max Factor just to shut it down and eliminate competition. I remember it was still available in Europe for a little while after it was removed from North American stores 😢 I wish they would bring it back as a vintage reproduction make up line available at the drug store.

Actually, Procter & Gamble had Covergirl as a small part of Procter & Gamble's 1988 acquisition of Noxell. Procter & Gamble had acquired Max Factor in 1991 while in 1992 Procter & Gamble had shutdown the Max Factor Museum for a short time until they decided to reopen the Max Factor Museum after there were protests from people who want to see the Max Factor Museum. In 2015, Procter & Gamble had sold Covergirl and Max Factor to Coty.

I use ponds the red label one with hrydo acid in it and love it n' swear by it💯😍💃 My mom uses the original ponds because she saw how youthful looking her aunt looked knowing she was in her 60's at the time and looked so good so her aunt told my mom when she was a teenager to always use ponds. Pond's for the win✨💖✨

Key ingredient in a lot of this stuff was lanolin. It fell out of favor in the 1950s when it was tested on dermatology patients who already had issues and it was perceived that a lot more people were allergic to it than was actually the case. I use pure lanolin I get from Puritans Pride. It's amazing for elbows and knees.

Does she or doesn't she, only her hairdresser knows for sure. was the slogan for Miss Clairol hair color. I would like to try the lavender creme eye shadow as well. I remember the Erace concealer and it was really messy if the lid came off. I don't remember the name of it, but there was a Max Factor glow stick in a container like the pan-stick foundation. Love the make-up history you present!

Elizabeth ardens 8hr cream lip balm saved my lips. It is the only lip balm that has worked for my chronic dry lips. 100% recommend it. And ponds cold cream is the best. I actually use the pond dry skin cream on ny feet and body with some vaseline on top, at night, for my super dry skin. I also started using the dorothy grey face cream after watching your Jackie Kennedy video, and it's amazing! Sometimes the vintage products are amazing hidden gems.

Loved this video. A trip down memory lane. I came across a vintage pamphlet from 1962 which featured millinery styles and advertisements. There were so many styles and veils for vintage hats and almost everyone wore them including children on special occasions. I know I wore them as a child in the early sixties for church and Easter Sunday. It would be nice to see those styles in a future video.

Every expensive face cream can easily be recreated . The active ingredients, like seakelp bioferment-the active ingredient in La Mer, can all be purchased online. That way you can be sure of the percentage of the ingredient, the freshness of the preparation, and better quality control over all. I make my own peptide and lipid Vitamin C cream

8-hour cream smells overwhelmingly of petroleum and contains several environmentally unfriendly ingredients. I used to use it (very expensive!) but Vaseline would do the job just as well, although I have found several natural, environmentally friendly , cruelty-free, and 100% natural products for a fraction of the price that are more than a match for 8 hour cream. And zero petroleum oil.

I’m understanding many of these products were very toxic, and contained lead, as in back in that day our household paints contained that as well and cause disease. Please mention the negatives as well. We have come a long way in making safer ingredient makeup and cosmetics today, but you have to look up safety on line.
