Pulling one of Mike's original kustoms out of the garage for a cruise down the San Diego coastline at Sunset Cliffs. This 1953 Chevy Bel Air has a ton of body modifications, starting with the extra teeth in the original grill, the 1956 Chrysler Imperial headlights, a 4" chop, extended quarter windows and a 1956 Packard rear end. The interior is draped in white upholstery with purple piping, 1955 Mercedes bucket seats to sit on and an original dash and steering wheel. Finally, the car sits channeled 2", on full air ride suspension to lay out completely on the ground while sitting on OG steelies with 1956 Chrysler Imperial hub caps.

I love the car. Just the way I did my 50 chev 2dr sedan. Empress Metallic Blue, Lowered as far as the law would allow, and all white tuck & roll throughout. Thanks for the memories. Absolutely cool for sure.

In 1966 when I was 14 years old I bought the neighbor's 54 Chevy Bel Air it had been lowered in the traditional way back then by torching the springs and it had Chrome reverse with baby moon hubcaps and white walls. It had the obligatory tassels around the window it was a two-speed Powerglide and it had a shifter probably from JC Whitney catalog it was a piston for the handle. Otherwise she was bone stock she was two-tone light blue and white. I paid $10 for this car with a perfect body sold it 2 weeks later for $75 and thought I made out like a bandit

Love the 53 very trick my grandmother had a 54 she won the car at a super market the car was garage kept never spent 1 night outside she sold it in 1985 it had 38000 miles on it the only thing that was not original was the bottom of the driver's seat and it was the 2nd set of tires because the originals were dry rot.

Thanks for taking us along with you on a ride along the SD coast , that car has a really nice flow to all the mods that you have designed into it. My favorite is the fins and tail section. Just a master piece of creativity sir.
