1976 I had a souped up '64 bug. When I got it, for 500 bucks, in '75, It was so stock and nice but as a kid, I just had to make it fast. Pretty much ruined my love for the car. Moved on to mini trucks . 35 years later, and many cars later, guess what? I have a '17 4x4 tacoma AND a '64 sunroof bug. Stock 40 horse. Both vehicles are in my soul. I am not fooling with this bug. It makes me smile just like it is. Cheers!

Sweet ride , I have a 1959 ragtop bug I've had since high school I'm now 56 years old . Just finally putting in a new transaxle pro street freeway flyer with super beetle first gear. Mines has a 1915 motor pro built with 40 delortos runs great but I'm thinking about putting on 48 IDF or 48 IDA webers not sure yet ? Doin research

people say 48 are too big for a 2180, an engine will only suck the amount of air and fuel it needs to run, if u are flooding out, its human error.

What transmission are you using

not enough fuel pressure. my 2180 was twice as fast.
