An old family home movie of a parade in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, from 1966. Many other local town also participate. Know anyone?

I'd only been there once as a child, now 50. It makes my heart hurt for my father, John Galinski. He grew up there, it looked like a wonderful place. I miss him!

I guarantee my family is all over the place in this video! They lived in the heights. Thanks for posting this! I was 9 years old in '66. It was always fun going up there to spend time with all the aunts, uncles, cousins - and my grandparents and great grandmother!

My group, Stan and the Capris performed at the stage show for the Centennial which was held at the J. W. Cooper building. I know this was filmed, does anyone have the show online?

It's a shame what it's become.

Zuber_78. .... I was born & raised in a home in a “patch” of houses that was a mile or two outside of Shenandoah going towards Lost Creek. Coal miner’s daughter here, now a senior. Most young people only moved out to seek employment. My much older sisters & I did, one by one. My much older bro stayed, & did above ground mining. Of the places I lived, & worked, Queens NY & northern NJ.... Shenandoah, Schuylkill County, PA area was the most heart warming. Sadly, West Mahanoy Township High School closed down in 1958. I remember our colors of, “Maroon & Gold”..... Memories! 🙏🏼 💖
