In 1967, the Los Angeles Rams compiled an 11-1-2 record and led the league in scoring and points allowed. They lost, however, in the first round of the playoffs to the Packers.

That 1967 was my first full season going to every home game. I was 15 and went with my sister and future brother in law. As you can see from this video it was a fabulous season! And those great hamburgers they sold! I ate 2 every game! Fabulous memories!

That was the year I started to follow all LA teams as a 17-year-old and that year for the Rams was incredible. For me the Roman Gabrial era was the golden age of the Rams.

Roman Gabriel had a strong arm and was so accurate love those uniforms bring back those long horns from the 50'si'll miss the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum that ancient looking Roman Coliseum where Gladiators fought THANK YOU for the memories

this Rams team got screwed....had the best record in the NFL, but still had to play their post season game in frigid Wisconsin ..the game should have been in Los Angeles

This shade of blue, with white as the secondary 'color' and a tinge of dark yellow in the uni would be the way to go. These new unis have yet to be viewed in game action but, I have to wonder, am I going to be asking myself, am I watching the LA RAMS, a team I've watched since 1967?

That dark yellow is gold w/ blue that's the color of California I dont get it when people say yellow even these young commentators calls it yellow its GOLD cause that's when people rush to the west looking for GOLD the blue comes from that beautiful cristal BLUE persuasion sky in the west powerful that it reflex on the plains end land scapes RAMS BLUE AND GOLD

The greatest Los Angeles rams team is the 1985 Rams that won the NFC Western Division overcame a holdout by Eric Dickerson won the division by beating the arch rival defeanding Super Bowl champion san Francisco 49ers

Ironically THe Rams completely bludgeon the 2 best teams in the Eastern Conference.Both Dallas & the Browns has their rear ends kicked 35-13 & 30-6

the first 8 super bowls should have an asterisk!!!!!!!! if the super bowl champ and the super bowl loser made the playoffs the following year those teams AUTOMATICALLY had home field advantage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the rams in 1967 had an 11-1-2 record that game should have been played at the la coliseum against the packers and WE WOULD HAVE KILLEDTHEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,,,that year the colts deserved to make the playoffs too!!!!!!!!!in 973 we played the cowboys and had a better record than dallas but the game was played in dallas!!!! in 1974 we had the tiebreaker against the vikings since we beat them in the regular season but the nfc championship game was played in minnesota because the vikings were the nfc representative in the super bowl the previous year!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS 3 SUPER BOWLS THE RAMS WOULD HAVE WON!!!!!!!!!!!! in 1968 we were 10-3-1 but could not make the playoffs since we were in a rugged division with the colts!!!!!!!!!!!WE WOULD HAVE KILLED THE JETS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in 1968 we lost to the bear by 1 point and on their winning touchdwon they were given 5 DOWNS instead of 4 downs BY MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Super Bowl Champ (or loser) did not automatically receive home field the following year. It was just based on a rotation. The divisions alternated each year who hosted the playoff games. It was similar to MLB alternating the World Series for years regardless of record. I agree with you that it was a poor method to do things, though.

Pete Rozelle was obsessed with that stupid playoff rotation system, in which the Rams got screwed in 1967, 73 & 74. the league finally came to their senses and abolished it in 1975.

The Rams scheduled a few games from the 1960s and one from 1970 on a Friday night which was the season opener that year

Glad the NFL got rid of that meaningless "Playoff Bowl," where the two first round losers played in Miami. In today's game, 99% of those players would've, "opted out." The 1960's were also the days when ALL players showed up to the Pro Bowl, which was an all-out football game.

When the Eastern and Western Conferences split into divisions in 1967 it was pre determined that the Central Division champions would get the playoff game that would rotate for 1968 and 1969 ( Best record was not a factor at the time)

Just bad luck the Rams 2 best teams 1967 and 1969 had to play on the road in the playoffs but in 1970 when they missed the playoffs by having a tie they would have had home field then plus both the cowboys and Vikings had QB problems
