Good morning Ed. Sounds like a bit of a high wire act trying to get everything in spec when you can’t alter the deck. Hopefully the owner appreciates the magic this requires.

guy told us that the 366 Truck engine had the forged 396 crank in it and the 3 ton with a 350, used a LT1 crank. he said some old late 60's farm stuff with the big blocks used HP stamped blocks, just low compression, low lift 2 barrel intake provisioned..
@edsmachine932 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching 91rss, I really appreciate it. Yes the 366 has the same stroke as 396, 402 and 427. They made regular forged, cross drilled forged and Tufftrided Forged. Same with the 350 forged plain and Tufftrided. The small blocks were not cross drilled. Have a good evening.

You are a restoration guy! I’m the only one who’s going to tell you this, the factory machining with the factory fonts can’t be replicated you know all this.Well done my friend

That’s a great motor. 427 inches of pure Chevrolet!!! What machine do you machine the decks on? Love your boring mill.
@edsmachine93Ай бұрын
Thanks Bill, The 427 Chevy is certainly a favorite of mine too. I deck blocks in the ComecACF200. Remove the boring spindle and install the mill head.👍

Hi Ed , what would be the Limit on this block 0?? Just Curious, another question what would be the absolute limit on say a LS1 5.3 I Y O ?. Also do you ever or have Sonic tested bores in iron blocks?. Thank You for your Time , Great!! Job!!. 👍🏼🏁👍🏼.
@edsmachine932 ай бұрын
Hey Jeff, Thanks for watching. I have heard on K blocks you can bore up to .125 over. The 5.3 I believe you can go up to .060. I never had to bore one over .030. I do not have a Sonic tester. I would like to have one. Certainly would be an asset to know cylinder wall thickness. If people would pay for the service. Have a great weekend. 👍👍

Morning Ed, wow on the Early BB just goes to show they definitely don’t make them like they use to , it sounds like the BB would be Ok to use in a Boosted App even bored @ 080, that’s some serious Meat on those early BB,s. Thank You Sir for the info Happy Saturday to you and take care 👋🏼.
