In this video I resurface a pair of warped 5.2 L Dodge Magnum heads. The heads were milled .007 in the ComecACF200.#Mopar#DodgeMagnumHeads#DodgePerformance#DodgePickup#318Magnum#ComecACF200

Good evening Ed, Ive watched you do a set of heads at least several hundred times, and I enjoy watching you every time. The going from old and tired to fresh and new looking. Have a good night, Brother 😊

Hello Terry, I agree with you. I don't care what Ed has worked on for me, whether a flathead V8, a slant 6, or a lawn mower engine , he always has give me his best. And it always shows after I get the engine back together. Not only is Ed, a top notch machinest, he's a very good friend. Definitely a winning combination! Have a wonderful weekend Sir

Looks good Ed. A good example of choosing the right level of repair for the job at hand. No need for a valve job if resurfacing will get him back on the road.

Nice job Ed. All parts should be deburred when finished machined, makes a more professional job. IMO
@edsmachine93Ай бұрын
Good evening Randy, thanks for watching. You are absolutely correct, all parts should be deburred. Certainly is more a professional job.👍👍 Have a good evening. 👍

I’ve never seen a head surfacer with built in chip sweeper 😉
@edsmachine9326 күн бұрын
Hi Robert, the brush is to keep chips from flying off the head. Kinda sweeps them also. Have a good evening. 👍

Very nice looking heads. How do you feel about the chambers versus the LA head? Thanks for sharing! 🫡
@edsmachine93Ай бұрын
Thanks Joe, the chambers are definitely a plus. I would like the chambers like the Magnum and rocker shafts like the LA. And the LA intake bolt patern. Have a good evening. 👍

Hey Ed, Great job. A quick question, do you take that exact amount off the other head in order to keep the compression "balanced" as such. I know it is a silly question, apologies. Top man. 👌
@edsmachine9329 күн бұрын
Thanks Anthony for watching and commenting. Yes, I always try to take the same amount off within .001/.002 to maintain compression. That is a great question. 👍 Have a great weekend. 👍

Great job Ed! How is the Duster coming?
@edsmachine9329 күн бұрын
Thanks Patrick, I appreciate you watching. I know you like this Mopar head content. I have no reports on the Duster. Not sure where it's at. Have a great weekend. 👍

Are the ends of the heads machined accurately enough to hold the head by the ends when surfacing? I’ve always wondered because I have two large enough accurately ground 90 degree angle plates I could use to hold by the end.
@edsmachine9326 күн бұрын
Thanks Robert for watching. Not sure what kind of setup you have. But the Rollover fixture is the best method. The heads not only Warp, they twist. So you can divide out the bend and twist. Heads that are parallel I set up on parallels and shim if I have twist. But I suppose you could fixture off the ends. Nothing wrong with trying. Have a good evening.

Nice looking job Ed. How much do you remove per pass? Like 0.002 per pass and a 0.001 finish? Great shop you have!
@edsmachine93Ай бұрын
Thanks Bill, I appreciate you watching and commenting. I take about .004/.005 on the rough pass. Then .002 and a .001 finish pass. I never mill more than .010 a pass. The machine will do it. I was using CBN Insert for the cast iron. Have a good evening. 👍
