Right, and shooting and dribbling only looks awkward because lowering rn shoulder or initiating more than the tiniest amount of contact was a charge, touching anything but the top of the ball was a carry, taking more than one step after the catch without dribbling was a travel, as was anything more than two steps, eurosteps were travels as well. Imagine Jerry West, Oscar, Pistol, or Cousy with the rules allowing them to play the way players do today. Imagine Wilt and Bill if lobs were a thing.

The game looks quite different today. More like an old ABA game with the 3 pointers and light defense and above the rim action. I miss the crisp passing in basketball as you see here. But, like every sport rules have changed to increase scoring. Thanks for putting this game up. Bill's final all star game before he retired.

I like the 3 point line but it's totally abused now. Maybe move it back so teams will only attempt a max of 10-15 per game. College should definitely move the line to at least where the NBA is.

Billy Cunningham, could absolutely ball out..wow. He could play in todays game

I think the NBA All Star teams from 1969 ,1970 ,1983 ,1988 , 1990 and 2001 were some of the best, ever. The 1992 Dream Team and 2008 Olympic team were amazing too.

Nice to listen to a game absent all the relentless hype that we have today.

the segment of this game where there were no announcers was the most enjoyable to watch (late 1st quarter and 2nd quarter)

The game is very fast paced but has a college feel to it, ball movement and teamwork was stressed over individual players/matchups.

I once scrimmaged against the 1972 Supersonics!...Kojis set a pick, I literally bounced off his huge body, and I do not even think he felt it!...I mean, 5'8" me, running into a 6'6" brick wall of a man!

Thanks for sharing. That was pure basketball. Those names made the game. It is too bad money has taken over the game.

quit bitchin about money...players are entitled to earn a fair portion of what they generate. The players generate the revenue; the owners who use to hog all the money, don't generate shit...nobody buys a ticket or watches TV to see an owner. Quit bitchin unless you don't think you and your family deserve a fair wage wherever you work.

@waldolydecker81188 ай бұрын
@@michaelterry4394 - so what? Most corporate CEO's, Wall Street Executives, and Private Equity Partners make 10 or 20 TIMES more than what the average player makes. Athletes played pro sports for damn near 100 years before winning lawsuits all the way up to the Supreme Court to earn the right to get their fair share of the profits they generate, and the right to have legal representation negotiate their contract. They earn everything their agents negotiate for them.
