Nice day out Patrick...we did the Dronfield rotary walk a couple of years ago, i remember it being a great day...like you i have never seen a bell to warn fishermen that you are approaching, although i have seen bells that you ring when crossing Golf courses.

Thanks Steve. I remember watching your Dronfield rotary walk video some time back. That footpath with the bell for the fishermen was certainly unusual, but a good idea too. All the best 👍

Interesting to hear about your music Patrick, especially playing without reading the music. Although I trained at music college, I learned more after I left and started playing with bands without music. I never put a composition down on paper until after it's written. I too stick with the same instruments even though there are thousands to choose from. Always enjoy listening to your pieces.

Hi Steve, thanks for watching and commenting. I don't think I ever wrote down my compositions, it was always a case of just recording what I played by ear. My first organ teacher was with the London College of Music, and she taught me how to play from sheet music. When I moved to a different area I had a new teacher who played for Radio Bristol, and he was the one who taught me to interpret the music rather than just playing the sheet music exactly as it was written 👍

@@solitaryrambler So interesting hearing views from musicians. I was taught to read music and passed a few exams, but actually played music by ear and instinct. Even memorising sheet music (which cheated my teacher until she picked up on it by turning over the wrong page!). Only wrote music when transposing songs keys for singing.

@@CountrysideWalking Interesting to learn of you memorising sheet music Shanita. My first organ teacher was with the London College of Music, so I passed two music theory exams with her. She was the one who taught me to play exactly what was on the manuscript. My second teacher was totally different. He had a programme on Radio Bristol, and was the one who showed me how to interpret music and make it sound more interesting.

Ha, I was going to say that about the 'Tickled Trout' Patrick. Yeah, a funny one - bet it's had some great nights. Another decent new walk. I enjoyed hearing about your music. Hey, an ACDC fan - saw them live some years ago at the NEC - a great show. Well, just checked out the town. It looks to be similar in size to Leominster. I can see it proximity to the Peak District. Have a great weekend. Mark

I love that pub name Mark, I do wonder where these pub landlords or owners get them from. It makes the pub stand out for certain, so perhaps that's why they do it. Wow you saw AC/DC at the NEC, that would have been wonderful. I've never seen them live, and basically "rediscovered" them during the past 15 years or so after not hearing them for many years prior to that. Yes I guess Dronfield matches the size of Leominster and close to the Peak District indeed. Thanks for watching Mark and have a great weekend too 👍

@@solitaryrambler Yeah, the name makes the atmosphere Patrick. As for ACDC I came out of that gig without a throat practically - 15,000 people going utterly bonkers. A good rediscovery. For sure a nice market town - lucky to be so close to the peaks. I am super relaxing this weekend.

Another lovely walk and brilliant music score. Thanks for sharing this with us Patrick. You have the most appalling luck with Church access (most likely thanks to vandals or thieves) so how about next time getting in touch with the Vicar/Priest of any Church on a future planned walk to see if they'd open it for you? Just a thought. All the best, love your videos.

Another interesting walk in a new area for me . If you are interested in visiting village churches the warden should have a key. I likeold c and have a book called The 1000 Best Churches in England.if the church is in there then it should be open or easily accessible.I have noticed many chapels open in The Peak District. You seem to have been unlucky with your closed church visits. You looked warmly wrapped up though. I know winter stayed around a long time from our own walks. Liked the cool style of guitar/guitar arpeggio. I understand your comments about music influences. Also find it hard to keep up with so many films, but so coincidental the similar background to learning and composing music.

Hi Shanita, yes the church saga goes on, but I do get luckier eventually. I tried a different style of music in this one, pleased you enjoyed it. It is indeed hard to keep up and create different scores, so I sometimes reuse a score, but I'll try a different version of it if I can. I can remember you telling me before about some of your musical background too. Thanks for watching 👍

Patrick, your. Peaceful walk interrupted by sound of motorway, in Chicago we have the subway, the tube, breaks out to the overground, called the L for the elevated, when , you walk under its bridge, the aluminum carriages riding on steel rails, sounds 100 dbls, your ear drums hurt, they nick named the L rolling thunder, at 3 am can be heard for miles, keep opening those church doors, you might see G od.
