1972 Tamiya 1/25 Jagdpanzer V Jagdpanther (sd.kfz173) German Army Tank Destroyer, Kit No. DT113-1700
This week we have another Tamiya 1/25 model kit from my father’s collection. The Jagdpanther has individual track links, four crewmen, is motorized (RE-36) and the motor is included! I thought it was interesting that the cement was not included, but a little note was left in its place. I hope you enjoy!

First time seeing this 10 March 2024….. TAMIYA was Top of the Line in 1972… That’s when I discovered them FUNNY, how the plastic model world has come FULL CIRCLE With all the 1/16 remote control kits offered… These kits were so expensive for a 12 year old to purchase… If you haven’t been to a IPMS SHOW, or a WAR GAMES club event, they have set up a large area to look like a battlefield Roads, Trees, Hills, Buildings Obstacles of all kinds… And remote control enthusiasts have battles against each other, or try and maneuver the terrain… Pretty fun to watch………… Thanks for letting me rant Thanks for putting this together…….. Did you do any of the tank models? Were they challenging?

@@Tube_0413 Yes I did…built a TIGER, Pz 3, Stug 3, right now I have a plan to build the Pz 2 with Afrika Corp Infantry… and a lot of Soft Skin vehicles and their FIGURE kits……

I so remember them on the shelf at K-mart when I was a kid. I built the 1/25 Tiger. What a great kit. I wonder if Tamiya ever offered prints/posters of all the box art from these kits? I would buy them as soon as I saw them. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Nice vintage kit. Now I know what the kit looks like. I have the re-pop "Tank Classic Series" from a few years ago; still sealed. It is a static version only.

This is an impressive model! With the inclusion of four, in-scale (1/24th) figures, individual track links and posable suspension; some very dramatic diorama results could be achieved with what's provided. 12th like.

Petits moments de nostalgie a voir ce type de maquette rétro. Vue a l'époque dans mon magasin de maquettes qui vendait aussi des trains et des avions de modélisme. Pour information ,ces kits TAMIYA coûtaient le même prix que ceux de NICHIMO ou BANDAI a savoir entre 500 & 650 francs . Les kits NICHIMO ou BANDAI offraient un train de roulement en métal moulé alors que chez TAMIYA ce train de roulement était tout en plastique. J'ai préféré acheter un navire radiocommandé a construire à la place du magnifique JAGTIGER de chez NICHIMO.

I'm building this kit but I upgraded it with 2 motors so it is wire control and upgrade with resin parts to make it G version and a Maybach Tiger 1 engine that is resin too

This kit is 1/25 scale not 1/24 scale but Bandia made it in 1/24 scale but they are very hard to find. And a lot more expensive.
