1973 Coming Home, Cresson Sanatorium in Cresson, PA.

2 жыл бұрынThis film follows a young lady named Charlotte. She is going to live for the first time in 10 years outside the walls of the institution that where she has lived all that time. Her new home is a group home that is in a residential neighborhood that struggles with having these menially handicaped residence near their families. The name of the institution is on a plaquered on the side of the VW bus that is transporting Charlotte to her new home. That name is "Mt. Renfield State School and Hospital". This institution does not appear to exist. Maybe someone will be able to identified it by the scenes in the first few minutes of the film.
THANK YOU CJPENNING for identifying the true location and name of the state hospital that appears at the begging of this film. It is not the "Mt. Renfield State School and Hospital" but instead it is the "Cresson Sanatorium in Cresson, PA".

I am very sorry to hear about your mother. Was she the girl that was being released in the beginning? This is the only film I possess concerning this subject.

@@OfficeofImageArchaeology thank you! And if you find anyone who as information on Cresson when it was a state Hospital please let me know. My mom’s sisters and I are very interested. We may set a tour to go out but are looking more for photos she may be in.

I’m not sure who Romero was but thank you for watching. I have a lot of really interesting one-of-a-kind films on this channel. I’m always out looking for new footage that hasn’t been posted to KZfaq. Sometimes I get lucky. Few years ago I found some film on 28 mm format that belonged to a company that was once owned by Thomas Edison. Now that was an exciting find. Someday I’ll be able to afford the equipment to have it digitized. Have a great day.

@@OfficeofImageArchaeology I'm a common Volunteer for the Tours here. Very familiar with this history. It was originally the Cresson Sanitarium which was then turned into the Lawrence Frick State Hospital which then turned into SCI Cresson. This video would of been from the Lawrence Frick Hospital Era Judging by Year and the Building itself.
