1974 Pioneer P25 - Another Vintage Chainsaw Added to The Collection - She Sounds Good-She looks good

8 ай бұрынIf you watched a prior video of mine, you know I'm running out of room to store my chainsaws. I promised myself I would NOT add to the collection until after the first of the year. Well, you can clearly see, I fell flat on my face trying to make that happen. A guy in my area posted an ad for this Pioneer P-25, FREE. To top it off, he only lives a few blocks from me. How could I say no? I couldn't. New saw added to the collection! Love that Patina!

One of the better mufflers for sure. I haven't had it in the wood yet, but so far, I'm impressed with the saw.

That is a nice find, and the asking price couldn't be better ! I have a P20, and my son has a P25. I haven't run mine for quite awhile, but these are great little saws. They aren't real fast cutters, but they have torque, so they don't slow down in a cut. They don't like hot weather, as they are prone to vapor lock. Mine has been in some of my older videos. Take a look and you will see what they are about.

I agree, free is tough to beat! I'll definitely check out your videos on both saws. I do like torque. When you have a saw that will pull you through the wood, it's a glorious thing! Thanks for the heads-up on the saw in hot weather. I was not aware that these saws were prone to vapor locking. I'm looking forward to getting this saw in the wood!

Easy Arc means it has solid state iginition. 😉

Nice old saw! You don't see these old pioneers turn up for sale too often.I got almost the same saw, pioneer Holiday 2 model 1072 with a perfect filter cover which is hard to come by! The starter mechanism in these saws are a work of art! Bullet proof chainsaw my friend! 😉 I also have a pioneer 600 made in Canada in 1959 in my collection.

Thanks, these Pioneer saws are really growing on me. You are correct, the 1072 and P25 are almost identical internally. Only some minor external differences from what I can tell. The pioneer 600 is a cool saw!! They look and sound like an old Johnson outboard motor.

Well, the reason for it sounding like a outboard boat engine might have something to do with the fact that it was manufactured by Marine Outboard Division of Illinois, so I would say you're spot on brother! 😋
