Tramp is an old English Sheepdog who has learnt how to drive a car - one with automatic transmission, obviously.
That's Life! reporter Chris Searle pays Mr Ben Pegler - Tramp's owner - a visit, to discover how the dog learned how to drive. Then it's time for the magnificent motoring mutt to take Mr Searle out for a spin in his Mini Estate. Proof, if proof were needed, that all dogs should have a licence.

The date this was broadcast was April 1st 1979. I remember it at the time and I thought it was obviously an April Fool. You only get one 'Spaghetti Harvest' in a lifetime.

Dogs are very intelligent animals, everyone should own a dog. We let our two dogs lick the plates after we've eaten dinner....... it saves on the washing up.

I had an eccentric German relative called Uncle Kurt. He used to wash tomatoes and other vegetables with soap when preparing salad,but shared his dinner with his two bloodhounds who would lap at his soup from either side. I never met him,unfortunately,but he died in his early 60s a happy man,having met and married a pretty 19-year-old Fraulein.

If your over a certain age you will remember the tv show ' That's Life ' which this is taken from. Folks used ' common sense / free speech ' and none of the bs of modern life , its history millions remember. Esther Rantzen lost it over Convid stating the ' Unvaccinated ' should be denied health care , not wearing a mask was a crime . So much of it was bs yet millions fell for it and still do. Maybe you won't grasp any of that as your innocent that this country has changed for the worst on many levels but improved in some.
