49ers (1-13) O.J. Simpson plays his last home game at Candlestick Park against the playoff bound Buccaneers (9-5).

Steve DeBerg was a classy guy with good talent but no team gave him his due. 49ers drafted Montana in 1979 to replace him, Broncos drafted Elway in 1983, and Buccaneers drafted Steve Young from USFL in 1987 to replace DeBerg. 196 TDs and over 34,000 passing yards are impressive for a journeyman QB in this era. The most memorable game I remember is Thanksgiving 1993 when DeBerg stepped in for Dan Marino and led the Dolphins to a win in Dallas.

I own AC's Ford Bronco. Purchased it at an auction fundraiser. Had the dash signed by OJ when I met him in Miami.

Steve DeBerg was the starting QB against the Bucs here... Ten years later he would be the Bucs starting QB when they won Super Bowl XXIII, shutting out the Jaguars..

@@andrearel3703 say what? 49ers Broncos were in Super Bowl 23, Jaguars have never been in the Super Bowl and Tampa Bay's only time in the Super was in Super Bowl 37 when they beat the Raiders over 20 years after this game. must be smoking some strong stuff dude lol.

Bucs beat the Chiefs in the SB only a few years ago, and they also beat the Seahawks in SB LGBT when Craig Erickson was QB. Check your facts dude.
